Potheads. The only way the show can even remotely be seen as humorous is if you're stoned out of your brain.
As funny as the show was in the beginning, I look back on it now and remember how stoned out of my brain I was at the time and how I laughed hysterically at skits that I find only mildly amusing when I see the reruns.
Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford knocking over the Christmas tree as he's placing the star on top? Smile inducing, yes. But gut-busting? Only if you are/were stoned.
