Do not trust Willard.

Why, what exactly do you think he's going to do?

I thought the media narrative was that Trump was a vindictive person?! LOL. I applaud both men in this instance. I’m confident that if Trump does pick him, then he has the right assurances from Mitt on support of admin. goals etc.

Romney tried to get the whole state of Utah to turn against Trump. He’s no ally, Mr. president-Elect. He is a globalist.

Romney as SoS would be THE biggest joke.

Romney didn't even vote for Trump for President just 2 weeks ago. Why would Trump give Romney the honor of being Secretary of State when Romney didn't even vote for Trump?

This is the worst news to come out after Trump's historical win. Very, very disappointing if true. Romney would still consider running for Pres again too. Romney and Ryan would conspire against Trump.

The Bush family would also have negative influence on Romney in an effort have Trump fail. This has to be a joke.

Again, Romney didn't even vote for Trump in the election.

Bain got a bailout....but for teetering Puerto Rico’s bondholders....Ryan was a facilitator.

Not sure if Bain held Greek Bonds, as well.

Romney and Ryan, with the Bush people in the background, would seek more and more power over Trump.

Romney is only loyal to the Bush family and Paul Ryan. Romney would have his own agenda and a lot of his own agenda will be to take control.

Trump needs to remember there are millions of people who voted for Trump but did not vote for Romney. And not just Independents and Dems. Many Republicans who did not vote for Romney, voted for Trump and were thankful that Romney had finally exited stage left after Trump’s win. Allowing him back on the stage would be a joke.

I hope he doesn't give the back stabbing Romney any position in his cabinet. Romney proved he can't be trusted. I think this is more Pence then it is Trump.

Just about everyone has held some deal on Greek bonds...remember...Hillary’s son-in-law?

I’ll bet every single hedge fund has some element in the Greek bond market. Normal people wouldn’t do it.

I remain skeptical until I see a direct quote about the SS position. Only “an important role” is mentioned.

Exactly? I have no idea.

SofS has a lot of autonomy. More than most cabinet positions. If Romney chooses to betray the President he will be able to do much damage.

I think this speaks very highly of President Trump.

He’s not driven by emotion or pettiness. He’s looking for people that can get the job done. And is not being vindictive.

The other side of the coin is that Mitt Romney humbled himself and immediately answered when President Trump called. He made it clear he doesn’t like Donald Trump. However, when now “President” Trump called to talk, his personal feelings were put aside.

This says a lot of good things about both men.

There a tons of quotes which show that Romney was Trump’s biggest critic. Romney criticized Trump more than some on the Left. Romney never let up on his Trump bashing and didn’t even vote for Trump.

Which Republicans Oppose Donald Trump?

Mitt Romney: NAY
The party’s 2012 nominee, one of Trump’s staunchest critics during the primary, told The Wall Street Journal, “I wanted my grandkids to see that I simply couldn’t ignore what Mr. Trump was saying and doing, which revealed a character and temperament unfit for the leader of the free world.” Romney continued: “I know that some people are offended that someone who lost and is the former nominee continues to speak, but that’s how I can sleep at night.” (May 27, 2016)

Romney previously told The Washington Post he would skip the Republican National Convention in Cleveland, and said at a D.C. dinner that he won’t be supporting Trump. (May 5, 2016)

He didn’t say it with any enthusiasm. It won’t happen.

The suggestion of consideration for SOS was just an olive branch.

Mittens will hobnob with all the globalists, take “input” from the GOPe elites, and see himself as the next president.

Romney has aged well, but he will be 73 in 2020, and 77 in 2024. In 2020, under what circumstance does he win Iowa or the SEC primaries if Trump runs, or if he doesn't?

I don't know what is happening behind the scenes, and I never thought that SoS would be Romney's natural fit (Commerce?), outside of some Olympics stuff. It does keep him away from social issues and the money boys. I assume this would be a move to co-opt the opposition as it Mrs. Clinton was for Obama. He IS unlikely to pull an international faux pas on protocol.

There's something going on behind the scenes. Trump may be trading a more efficient purge for getting his agenda passed. I'll cut him some slack.

Romney won't do that. Romney is not motivated by power or the public adulation. And if he drops the ball President Trump will just fire him.

President Donald Trump defeated the entire world media, the dems, and Republican establishment, have some faith that he knows what he's doing.
