WASHINGTON Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III, as the courtly senator from Alabama used to be known, was a stalwart Justice Department prosecutor for almost 15 years, a job he called the adventure of a lifetime.
Today, Mr. Sessions has a growing list of gripes about how the Obama administration has run his old department, from its breathtaking stance on immigration to its shameful refusal to defend a federal ban on gay marriage.
Im not happy about whats happened to my Department of Justice, Mr. Sessions said last year, jabbing his reading glasses in the air at the Senate confirmation hearing for Attorney General Loretta E. Lynch.
After nearly a quarter-century away, Mr. Sessions now known simply as Jeff is poised to return to the department to clean house as President-elect Donald J. Trumps nominee for attorney general, with a mandate to carry out the law and order agenda Mr. Trump promised on the campaign trail.
If he is confirmed, Mr. Sessions, who is considered one of the most conservative members of the Senate, will most likely push for wholesale changes and hard-line stances on immigration, terrorism, crime, drugs and guns. Democrats fear he could wipe away progress in civil rights, changes in sentencing and police accountability.

An overhaul is badly needed.
The corruption is knee deep and the Civil Rights division in particular has been going off the rails into illegal activities.
Why do they have to bring up his middle name? What does that have to do with anything?? /sarc
As always, misdirection. Fake news
It sounds a lot funnier to them than Hussein
The first order of business should be to declare the democrat party a treasonous, criminal enterprise.
The GOPe caved on Holder and Lynch. They better go to the wall for Sen. Sessions. This is an early test for the party and Mr. Trump.
My money is on The Donald.
Sessions was one of the best attorney general’s Alabama had. My husband and I proudly campaigned for him when he was asked to run for Senate. He is one of the most honorable men.
Reno, Holder, and Lynch - there’s 3rd generation nasty critters in that swamp by now. Drain, clean, and start fresh, the good men and women of the rank and file will do their jobs and then some.
Putting someone from Alabama with the name “Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III” in charge of the Justice Department has got to be a liberal’s worst nightmare,
Best
Election
EVER!
Just de-politicizing the DOJ would be a major accomplishment. Imagine having faith in our legal system again
I am trying to contact Sessions. A Utah grand Jury is possible on Harry Reid bribe and vote tampering, but it is being held up by DOJ, FBI and Senators Mike Lee and Orinn Hatch.
Rather than old news, I have traced a network of PACs and pay to play criminals that link with the Reid crime cartel run by his former aides. The current voter registration tampering investigation in Indiana by Patriot Majority PAC is run by former Reid aide Craig Varoga. Senate Majority PAC was also originally started by Varoga, is now staffed by Reid aides, and is an ongoing slush fund.
John Podesta co-founded Reid’s Clear Energy Project, also staffed with former Reid aides, who siphoned off consulting fees and contracts from alt energy companies dependent on Reid influence.
It goes far further than this.
Podesta the Molesta the kiddie raper (allegedly).
Imagine if you will a hillary win and her cabinet positions being filled with her picks.
Imagine an honest Justice Department.
Beauregard is a southern name. The nattering nabobs and effete snobs in the north and media all over, snicker up their sleeves at it. The fact that he’s a III is just the cherry on top.
Because his middle name sounds southern, i.e. waaaacccciiiiissssstttt!
“Democrats fear he could wipe away progress in civil rights, changes in sentencing and police accountability.”
That is erroneous.
Democrats fear he could wipe away progress in communist redistribution of rights, endemic Federal injustice, and bureaucratic lack of accountability.
It is fixed.
The GOPe caved on Holder and Lynch. They better go to the wall for Sen. Sessions. This is an early test for the party and Mr. Trump. You merely don't cave nor offer any apologies or 3rd way. You push through and don't give in to the criticism. If you make it through, it gets easier with each subsequent pick. If you falter and give in, each of the rest will only be harder. You set the tone that you will not be dissuaded from your track. If somehow the opposition is successful, you go for a much harder, more stridently conservative, anti-liberal pick as your next choice to teach them a lesson.
