What are they going to do if Trump does withhold funding? Protest? Riot? Vote against Republicans? I don’t see a downside. The upside is that many will have to discover a different way to make a living.Deporting illegal aliens will open up jobs for the lazy and idle welfare rich.
One thing that will need to be addressed is businesses who employ illegals.
What we’ve seen is Jose Wetback Roofing opens up with illegal alien labor (Jose probably came here illegally too, but was granted citizenship back when Reagan was President), so in order to stay in business Joe White Guy Roofing follows suit. You have to make sure that Jose has to get rid of his illegal workforce so he doesn’t cause the demise of his “American” competitors. The playing field needs to be as flat as a pool table and anyone trying to skirt the law going forward should be asking for his business to be closed down and some jail time to boot.

2018 elections for the House are not that far away. We should be careful how we frame this to minimize losses of House seats. Of course, it depends on how many of those seats we need to defend are in districts which include these cities.
