It would be really satisfying...and funny to see Rahm in handcuffs being loaded into a federal agency van for a trip to the slammer. There has to be some federal law to cover situations like this when “locals” defy/break federal law?
Actually, Bill Clinton was pretty good about enforcing the border, at least here in Southern California. I remember when B.J. was president Border Patrol agents always boarded the Amtrak train in Capistrano and they always arrested illegals on the train. That stopped when Bush became president.
Then the cities will say look at all the entitled people you have cut off from benefits? The Fed's better pretty forcefully say at that point, we didn't cut off the money, you disqualified these poor people. If they vote out the people who disqualified them or the people move to other cities, the money will be there for them.
It gets expensive to send a lot of illegals to So. America,etc. Maybe it would be a good idea to pick a few of these cities and start dropping thousands of them there as a true test of liberalism.

I agree, when Clinton was President, there were regular raids on construction worksites rounding up illegal aliens, greatly discouraging builders from employing them here in Virginia.
As you said, that stopped when W. REDUCED interior and border enforcement AFTER 9/11, totally unforgivable in my book.

These cities all get lots of grants from DoJ and DHS. Start with cutting all those and work up from there.

There are only a few things the Federal government should actually be doing and one is protecting our border. You don’t see anyone her saying PE Trump should use the Feds to enforce EPA, GUN, EDUCATION, HEALTH laws etc. This is one issue these idiots in the Federal government should be doing and it’s the one thing they DONT. Instead they’re busy sticking their nose into law abiding citizen’s lives.
W encouraged it, way beyond just tolerating it. He pushed for amnesty and only the patriots in the house at that time stopped it. I don’t think the current house would do so.

2018 elections for the House are not that far away. We should be careful how we frame this to minimize losses of House seats. Of course, it depends on how many of those seats we need to defend are in districts which include these cities.
No, it should be used to reduce the deficit. Seize the property of illegals being deported and auction it off to pay for the wall.
On Lou Dobbs today, he put up a graphic saying $650 Billion in funding to sanctuary cities could be cut off. It would be interesting to see what that figure includes. Maybe all welfare programs ?
The Feds should levy a head tax for every illegal the locality refuses to surrender, plus charge a premium for the cost of identifying and deporting unlawful residents found in their district.
There's got to be a big penalty for encouraging opposition to the immigration law.
It used to be that a legal immigrant ot resident alien needed to have a sponsor financially liable for their presence, IIRC.
