College and high school students from across South Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties will be taking part in a mass walkout Wednesday morning in opposition to what they say is a threat from President-elect Donald Trump toward undocumented students and their families.

If I ran a school, the kids walking out would be suspended/expelled. I don’t care who gets elected. They don’t have the right to do that on school time.
I suspect the principal and superintendent will applaud these buttercups.
When George Zimmerman defended his life from the wannabe killer, lots of kids walked out of class and the administration praised them for their passion.
Pathetic and weak.
The question is who's outing these thoughts in the kids heads because it's occurring in a lot of schools across the nation. I wonder it teacher's unions are pushing it at the behest of someone else? These are too organized not to be.

If these schools are receiving state money, the state should fine them!
From wikipedia;
“At the national level, the NEA lobbies the United States Congress and federal agencies and is active in the nominating process for Democratic candidates. From 1989 through the 2014 election cycle, the NEA spent over $92 million on political campaign contributions, 97% of which went to Democrats.
NEA officially merged with the American Teachers Association, the historically black teachers association originally founded as the National Association of Teachers in Colored Schools, in 1966.[20]
In 1998, a tentative merger agreement was reached between NEA and American Federation of Teachers (AFT) negotiators, but ratification failed soundly in the NEA’s Representative Assembly meeting in New Orleans in early July 1998.[21] However, five NEA state affiliates have merged with their AFT counterparts. Mergers occurred in Florida (the Florida Education Association formed in 1998); Minnesota (Education Minnesota formed in 1998), Montana (MEA-MFT formed in 2000), New York (New York State United Teachers formed in 2006) and North Dakota. North Dakota United formed in 2013.
And in April 2003, the FBI and Miami police raided the headquarters of the United Teachers of Dade after receiving a tip that president Pat Tornillo had embezzled or misspent millions of dollars in union dues. Critics and supporters worry that the scandals are symbolic of deeper organizational and financial control problems within FEA.[21]”
walk on all the way to Cuba
>> These are too organized not to be.
It is like intelligent design. You can just see someone moving the levers.
Great. Let them stay walked out. The fact that they’re this infantile demonstrates the worthlessness of their schooling.
And why should we educate illegal aliens in our schools for free?
More to the point, what right do they have to be in our country in the first place.
There is a great deal to be said for putting Americans first.
If Trump deports 3 million criminal illegals, how many students does that take out of our public schools? I would guess the teacher unions will howl over the lost jobs. Meanwhile, how much money will it save productive taxpayers?
The inmates are running the asylum. It’s obvious that those overpaid individuals who have been put in charge of the schools are incompetent and unqualified for their positions.
Not a Snowball's chance in H....
go ahead and walk out. walk out all the way to Mexico.
If I was a parent of one of these children, I’d be holding the school responsible for allowing my child to participate in an unsanctioned event. These gatherings need parental permission. Plain and simple.
Sounds like the idea of disbanding the Department of Education might not be a bad idea or at least redefining what it's purpose and goals are. The state should be able to handle it without a federal agency no problem though. I suspect the grant money and access to a lot of it is the draw towards having a federal agency though. And we wonder why education costs so much these days.
This kind of highly unproductive activity is the result of Community Organizers fomenting rabble rousing.
Our country is sorely lacking law and order. What are we teaching these misguided miscreates in our schools?
These "students" do not seem to know much about law and order and their responsibillities as citizens in the community, the country, or in the world.
Their ignorance is pathetic and sad. Their concern that undocumented students and families will be sent home may or may not be real. There is plenty of time for them to better understand the context and letter of the law, and contribute to meaningful remedies, instead of mindless and wasteful protests.
It’s not the kids that are doing this it’s the teachers because the leftist protests of violence isn’t working so now they’ve moved on to using children much like the suicide bombers do.
