Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is departing meetings at Trump Tower but declining to provide details of what he discussed with President-elect Donald Trump and his team.

Cruz tells reporters in New York that the "election was a mandate for change" and it's now time for Republicans to deliver on their conservative agenda.

Asked whether he wants to be considered for a post in the Trump administration, Cruz says he looks forward to working closely with Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence "to repeal Obamacare" and confirm "a strong, conservative Supreme Court justice..."

Trump should have Ted as an attack dog.

Since working to repeal Obamacare and voting to confirm a SC justice are the work of congress, I'd say Cruz just answered the question by saying he intends to remain in the Senate.

As to what this meeting was about, it's very possible we will never know.

Fact is Trump is going to need the strength of Ted Cruz in the Senate to combat the wishy washy moderates in the GOP.

The other possibility is that Cruz is going to get nominated for SCOTUS, which would also be a good thing.

Was Trump’s limo freshly washed and waxed after Cruz was there?

SCOTUS!

He’s young and brilliant. He’d be out of the way and Texas is a safe Senate seat for Republicans.

He can play the Latino card if Dems try to shut him down through the confirmation process.

Would also keep him from running in the primaries in 3 years...

Since Carson declined to have direct involvement in the Administration, perhaps Cruz could be Secy of HHS, dismantling Obama care and replacing it with a free market alternative?
