Read an article today where The Sanhedrin in Jerusalem have asked Putin and Donald to assist and allow them to build the Third Jewish Temple on Temple Mount!!! The article went on to say that a couple of years ago Putin was in Jerusalem, visited the Western Wall and was saying a silent prayer. Later he said that he was praying for Israel and FOR THE BUILDING of the Third Temple!!! This is wild considering Ezekiel 38 and 39 clearly says that one day Russia and Persia (Iran) will come and cover the mountains of Israel like a cloud, but only a Holy God will save Israel.

The Russians are orthodox. They do not need nor want your missionaries.

Russia is very Orthodox with a capital ‘O’ Christian.
The Orthodox are favored, and other denominations are tolerated IF they can show some formal structure and accountability. Some evangelical churches are organized under the Union of Evangelical Christians. Reform and Catholic are also recognized.
Street preaching on the corner or church of what’s happening now isn’t recognized and is discouraged. They don’t allow Scientologists, Mormons, and you will find no overtly Satanist monuments in the public square, unlike here. (I say overtly because they did not pull down all the Lenin sculptures.)
Russia under Czars was more restrictive than the Russian Federation, but the current situation rather resembles the policy towards non Orthodox sects under the Empire.
I highly recommend “The Russo-Turkish War” by Grant Barnwell. It was written in the late 19th century by an American traveler, and more closely resembles Russian society today than does anything from the Soviet era.
