Trump's Truthful Heresy On Globalization And Free Trade
Forbes ^ | Nov 11, 2016 | Steven Keen

Dear President Trump,

Nothing shuts a loud party down faster than the neighbours bashing the door in. You have just done that to the Washington Party, which—regardless of whether the President has been a Republican or a Democrat—has been the party of Globalisation and Free Trade ever since the 1970s.

You declared that this party might have been good for the Washington and Wall Street elites, but it’s been bad for their neighbours, “the forgotten people” of America who once made up its manufacturing workers. So forget it folks, the party’s over. Go home.

You’re right. Plenty of people will try to convince you that globalization and free trade could benefit everyone, if only the gains were more fairly shared. The only problem with the party, they’ll say, is that the neighbours weren’t invited. We’ll share the benefits more equally now, we promise. Let’s keep the party going. Globalization and Free Trade are good.

This belief is shared by almost all politicians in both parties, and it’s an article of faith for the economics profession.

You are right to reject it.

If yo are a globalist Free trader get out of the Republican Party. You are the antithesis of a pro America Patriot.

The Republican (and Democratic) parties are Free Trade 100%.
They are not going to “get out”.

On top of that virtually all politicians and economists believe in perpetual growth at levels that are simply not sustainable without massive globalization (or institutional slavery take your pick).

In the new Republican party we have a coalition of blue collar rust belt voters combined with the traditional Republican Party. The fastest way to dissolve that union would be to listen to Free Traitor™ propaganda and go back to supporting so called free trade, huge trade deficits and global labor arbitrage.

Globalists are a teenie tiny sliver of the Republican Party and yet they dominate the GOP leadership and K -Street. We need to ditch them ASAP. Otherwise the rust belt voter will bolt the Republican Party in droves. Protectionist and globalists CANNOT exist in the same political party. Since there are way more of the former I'd suggest you find a new party or form your own globalist party. See ya.

I wish Jim Rob would give the very vocal Free Republic Free Traitors™ cabal, and there are a lot of them, the axe.

I disagree. Free trade globalists are the Republican Party.
That’s a big part of why there was an uprising against them.

Free Trade globalist do run the GOPe but are a numerical minority in the party overall. A tiny little minority with all the power. The globalist agenda has been forced fed down the rank and file throats. Do you think the overwhelming majority of the Republican voters in Michigan want globalists to run things? If so you are really politically naive.
