Union membership in the private sector has been in a long-term decline anyway, so I’m not sure how much influence they even have anymore.

We don't usually win election by double digits. It is a low-single digit, and sometimes less than 1% as the election result shows. 1~2% changing their mind has a huge effect on the outcome.

Union membership in the private sector has been in a long-term decline anyway, so Im not sure how much influence they even have anymore. Private sector union members know that they are screwed if their jobs continue to go overseas. They are getting replaced by illegals, and if the unions try thug tactics against the Hispanics, that the Hispanics have their own gangs to push back.
Meanwhile, municipal union members are starting to understand that a bankrupt local government means that their pensions are at risk.
