I don’t expect federal legislation to change that.

It’s a suppressor, not a silencer.

Most calibers are supersonic, and therefore not silent.

That being said, suppressors are common in Europe, and even desirable due to the reduction in noise pollution.

I was going to take a drive to NH from my state FL.
I looked into the carry laws, and saw that I could not even get to NH as the state is surrounded by liberal cesspools.

Putting “silencers” under ATF control was an ignorant move based on what people “learned” about firearms from movies. People got worked into a tizzy about “silent” guns in the hands of assassins. In movies, you can put a “silencer” on a .357 revolver and reduce the report to a “pffft”. In real life (a place unknown to many people), we know that is nonsense; supressors - the proper term - do no such thing.

Already legal. Just pay the stupid tax.

Shh. In this case, let the media screw up the reality. The process is ridiculous, petty, and onerous. I should be able to pick up a suppressor at WalMart. Cash and carry. Stacks of legal paperwork and "tax stamps" are infringements.

Excellent logistics point, manc.
A lawful owner trying to travel between two legal places on the east coast would encounter big legal hurdles.
Hopefully the alliance with NRA / GOA will provide President Trump with helpful insights.

Is there more involved than just paying the tax? I have no knowledge in this area. Is it a one-time tax or must it be paid yearly? Is there a colonoscopy-style background check?

Please help me understand this as I live in PRNJ...if I take the Utah class and get a Utah carry license, wouldn’t national reciprocity compel NJ to recognize it?

“The Hearing Protection Act is already written and has co-sponsors. It should be passed within the first 60 days of President Trump’s administration...”

Gonna have to get a couple barrels threaded.

“There should be no tax.”

I think the Hearing Protection Act eliminates the tax, plus provides for refunds of the $200 if a suppressor was purchased after a certain date.

Trump needs to end the Obama EOs that prohibit Russian ammo/parts/guns from coming in. ...
...and the Clinton EO ban on importing armored vehicles and equipment
....and the Bush I EO that banned non-sporting firearms.

I never went to NH in the end. I decided to go to the mountains of GA and TN which is much more open to carry.

I’ve lost a lot in gun stocks since the election. A lot.

But I’ll take those losses with joy knowing HRC is NOT our President......

How about giving back Disabled Veterans their 2Amend. Right/s...

But I’ve heard this tripe before under George W. Bush[43]. The nra uses this as a money raising issue/s. And until this is done, I’ll NOT send 1 red cent to the nra or any other fire arms group!

One supposes that if all fifty states universally recognized each other without question and/or hassle.
Using your same example...one can DRIVE in the state of Utah because they gracefully honor a New Jersey driver's license like you currently possess.
The challenge I see anti-gun people posing is that if it is not legal in your state of residency, they will assert that one shouldn't be allowed to "shop" other states.
NRA Institute for Legislative Action will undoubtedly provide solid guidance to our legislators and President Trump.

Let these LIBTARD riots continue and you will see more gun and ammo sales. Let the illegals and refugees get out of hand more gun sales. People need to look beyond today if they truly want to keep America as a Republic.
