If they take away the electoral college, then they have officially abrogated the Constitution, and the original agreement for a union. States should then just leave the union.
Not to be repetitive but...no she didn’t win the popular vote. We’ll never know who won the popular vote because absentee ballots and provisional ballots in most states are not counted unless the vote on election night is close (like in NH). We don’t know how many of those uncounted absentee ballots broke for Trump although historically only 33% of absentee ballots are for the democrat. More importantly, IT’S IRRELEVANT!!!
Michael Moore thinks the Electoral College is insane because he lives in one of the populous states. The EC was designed to give the small-population states at least SOME consideration in national elections. Without the EC, then all put a half-a-dozen states would be completely ignored during Presidential elections, including almost all of “fly-over-America” so disdained by the coastal elites. The EC is every bit as relevant today as it was 200 years ago.
It's just as "arcane, insane" as the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate, the Supreme Court, and office of the President itself.
Could Moore and his followers even tell us point blank what the Electoral College is and how we as separate states come together to form a nation? Probably not.
There is also no such thing as any official "national presidential popular vote" as they are combining stats from completely separate elections to create a mere statistic. Moreover, in many precincts where in absentee ballots are less than the margins of victory, they will not count them into the rest of the total since they do not impact the outcome. Each election is a local, state election - not a national election - created by the individual state legislatures. It makes no more sense to combine these separate elections together into one statistic than to have a "national House popular vote" or "national Senate popular vote" - they are not the same elections.
Neither candidate was trying to win a "national popular vote" - they were trying to win the election. If Trump and the RNC wanted to waste money on ads and GOTV efforts in states Trump was already going to win by 20+ points and even in states where he way behind and had no chance of winning, sure, a "national popular vote" probably could have been achieved given how close it is - but that is ridiculous.

Don’t fear celebrities - we saw what happened with the Hollywood freak train that came out swinging for Hillary.
I’m sure the likes of Lena Dunham, Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, Madonna, Cher, and other womyn hurt more than helped.
The key thing is for us to boycott liberal stars and their products (albums, movies, books, etc). No point railing against them and yet supporting their political stances and personal wealth with OUR money.

It's not hard to understand how abolishing the EC would hurt the nation. Presidential candidates would pander only to the large population concentrations on the East and West Coasts, and completely ignore every other part of the country. It's a no-brainer that most states would see this as very detrimental to their representation.
