Hindsight,,,
I depressed myself a week ago with This
Same Question and came back with ,
At this point,
what difference does it Make!
I changed careers and moved West for many reasons.
It is done and I will look Forward!
I would not have married the General’s daughter. That was a bad move on so many fronts...
I have been very successful in my investments (stocks, bonds, commodities, ETFs, mutual funds, et all) over the last 30 years.
My only regret is I didn’t start investing earlier in life as soon as I was old enough to legally invest in the markets. Even when a kid, I had a fascination with stock brokers and dreamed of a profession in that venue.
But instead I went into computer science and IT - and I did well in that. But I think I would have enjoyed finance and investing more.
I had the opportunity to travel to various wonderful places in the world - but there are a couple of destinations I didn’t get a chance yet to visit and probably would have by now but due to Islamic terrorism I will not. This includes Turkey, Egypt and Morocco. If I could do it over again, I would have gone to Egypt while younger and safer because I like Egyptian antiquities.
Now it might be a long time before travel to Egypt, Morocco and Turkey is safe again. Maybe not again in my lifetime.
I wouldn’t have bought that Betamax VCR.
It was Sony!
Towards the end of his life Winston Churchill was asked, if he could do it all over again what would he do differently. His answer, “If I’d known I was going to live this long, I’d have taken better care of my teeth.”
Another vanity?
I grew up believing that good men would want a woman who was not nuts, was not needy and clingy, had her own friends and hobbies so that the man could enjoy his own as well, and to have a career that was respected.
Wish I knew back then that was all a crock lol!
I would have purchased stock in pacifiers, scotch tape, and cardboard...
Gone in to commercial construction instead of residential.
Earning potential with my knowledge would have at lest tripled my earnings capacity.
I would have ignored my parents old world ranting and gone to school or joined the service.
I would have been more patient with my kiddos! (but they seem no worse for it, and they actually like me)
I would have never stopped running. It’s hard to start up again.
But I would have still married my old man and we have had a great life. Can’t complain!!!
No to marriage, no to kids, more on my education and career
No smoking or drinking and would have went to Ohio early on to hunt down my current wife - the only way to make our marriage better would be to have started it 20 years earlier...
Probably a lot. Would just have to take time and make sure which ones would have been important.
Stayed in college.
Work more hours and saved that money
