Many Woodview Elementary School students were on edge after the election on Wednesday. The school, located in Spring Branch ISD, is about 80 percent Hispanic, and parents say a sizable chunk of those students are undocumented.
Their parents were stunned when their children told them the schools principal took to the loudspeaker Wednesday morning to praise the results. Principal Pamela Pennington reportedly broadcast her excitement about President-elect Donald Trumps victory and the changes he can bring to the country.
Steven Brunsman, a spokesman for the district, said staff investigated and could not find evidence that the pro-Trump statements were made during morning announcements Wednesday.
In a statement released by the district, Pennington said she only spoke about the need for students to be kind to each other after the election and to respect differences of opinion.
"I did not endorse Trump or Clinton. I did not and I would not," Pennington said. "I did not tell people who I voted for or that I was happy. It was not a celebration.
One parent of an undocumented Woodview Elementary student, who asked the Chronicle not to be named because she is also undocumented, said her 8-year-old is now afraid of the principal.
When she said that, my son just started crying, the mother said. He started crying that we dont have papers. He said we need to go to Mexico because the principal supported Trump, she doesnt like Hispanic people and she wants us to get papers.
She said since the election and the principals alleged comments, her 8-year-old has not been eating. He comes home and cries, she said, worried about what will happen to him, his family and his friends.

Perhaps the lack of an anti-Trump statement was taken as pro-Trump, resulting in mass hysteria.
Zot, I hate government education. It turns far too many people into blithering morons.
I guess the “Donald J. Trump, mmm mmm mmm” chant is out of the question.
Hey students, how about a cheerful “Build the Wall!”
No sympathy here for the “undocumented.” They are here illegally. They are breaking our laws. They are parasites on our national treasury. They should be sent back to their own countries.
If the children of these criminals are afraid of going to the school, maybe the criminals should send them to another one. In Mexico...?
You can look at this two ways... either Mexico sent all their bad people and obviously an 8 year old and probably his mom are not bad people or Mexico sent all their good productive people and they do need to go back home and work to pull Mexico out of the mess it is in. Coming here as economic refuges to “get a better life” is not acceptable. OK so here they have cable TV and central air and maybe a nice car. I can live without all three. In fact I did live without those three things in Mexico one summer. I was okay. We even had a drug dealer show up. We shared a meal and told him we were not interested in helping him smuggle drugs. Now this was in the 70s and I’m sure it’s much worse now but go home. It will not be perfect but it will probably be okay.
“and parents say a sizable chunk of those students are undocumented. “
ILLEGALLY IN THE COUNTRY!
Can we stop using that retarded phrase “undocumented”?

In west Houston. 81% Hispanic, mostly illegal. 88% get a free school lunch.
Maybe they can get a seat on the midnight train to Mexico...
You shouldn't discuss in school, in open public, or at the supper table the following.
Religion
Sex
Politics.
Alma Gordillo, who has a third-grader and fourth-grader at the school, said even though she and her family are here legally, her children are worried because of their Mexican heritage.
The way they see it is their principal is celebrating and wanting them to leave the country, Gordillo said.
When her children first told her about the alleged incident, Gordillo wondered if they hadnt misheard the principal trying to use the election as a teachable moment. She wondered if the principal was talking about her excitement over the democratic process instead of the outcome.
But after she called other parents, she said it seemed clear the students had all heard the same thing.
I wasnt there, I dont know what was said, Gordillo said. But if multiple children are understanding the same message, obviously something was said that completely inappropriate or it was understood in a way that was completely inappropriate.
Gordillo said she was willing to speak up because she has the means to move her children to another school. But others, including the undocumented parent who spoke to the Chronicle, said they could not and feared reprisal for complaining about the alleged statement.
When youre in a world where that principal is a person of power, and you know they can make or break your experience there, thats a scary feeling, especially when youre 8, Gordillo said.
I’m sorry if illegal aliens are scared. I am scared of too many criminals overwhelming this country. And yes, if you come to this country without the proper invitation, you are a criminal.
Why are “undocumented” children allowed to attend our tax-payer-funded schools?
Following that “rule” humans would be a species deaf, dumb and blind and extinct in one generation. :)
We live in tyrannical society where it’s not safe to express one’s support for a particular candidate.
We are at war.
Civics must be reinstated into the public school system. Law abiding citizens are taught to respect our nation’s system of government, free elections, and the peaceful transition of power. Progressives have fed our students leftist propaganda. Illegals have grown up with anarchy and revolution. America must train up the generations to adhere to the U.S. Constitution and obey its laws.

If you don’t have papers, then he should be crying. And some American child who will have a job one day should be rejoicing.
