NOT LEGALLY! Under the law you can bring a maximum of 50 rounds from out of state, and if you are a CA hunter going out of state to hunt, in order to bring back any ammo you took with you, you will have to declare it at the border when leaving.

California will run their fresh fruit check points all year and include ammunition.
