Trump is not treating NATO like a business. He is telling the member states that the time for freeloading is over.

Germany is a wealthy country and it is about time that they picked up a bigger share of the cost.

PS. Dear German officials, do not tell Trump what he can or can’t do. When he farts in your face you will take it and like it.

Why is it the US is 70 % percent of the strength of NATO and that these G20 nations militaries are either small or near worthless, can you explain this to me like a 2 year old.

I find it amusing, to say the least, when we hear/read about the twilight of America/Americans/American global reach/American exceptionalism/American military might and prowess, ad infinitum ad nauseum, and then, after President-Elect Trump won on Tuesday, how quickly the world leaders/ministers/dictators/sycophants rush to remind that same "diminished" America, just how much they can't live without us.

Hypocritical? Ironical? Realpolitik? Fear?

And I also find the ass-kissing ring-kissing brotherly/sisterly camaraderie from the very same foreign bureaucrats and leaders amusing also, who, the day before, thought DJT was the worst thing since sliced bread and Vegemite, but now are falling all over themselves to be the first to remind President DJT (and he's not even sworn in yet!) about all of our 'special' relationships with them.

And Bambi and his legacy and his ilk are nowhere to be found in the minds of these so-called leaders. There's lame duck and there's lame duck, but it seems that the world is rushing to forget all about Bambi and the last 8 years.

"Let them hate so they but fear me." -- Gaius Caesar Caligula.

Schadenfreude.
