Someone made a body slam killing with the brief stock downturn caused by media speculation. Smart wins.

In fact, with increased emphasis on US-based goods production, you'd think Warren Buffett would welcome this. For one thing, ending the War on Coal means one of the properties owned by Berkshire Hathaway, BNSF Railroad, will now make much higher profits as coal trains are rolling again on a large scale.

Trump is a successful businessman. I’m not even slightly surprised at this.

What stock(s) in the DJIA caused it to skyrocket?

The S&P 500 -- a much broader index -- only rose .2%, and the NASDAQ went down 0.8%.

Caller to Phil Valentine talkshow said a couple of companies she is associated with are already placing new orders for oilfield supplies/equipment — which they had not been doing for a long while.

I'm no expert but NASDAQ is loaded with tech stocks and they were big 'Rat supporters.

Here's the answer:

http://money.cnn.com/data/dow30/

11 stocks down, 19 up. Some were up a lot, others were down a lot.

In other words, it's not a broad movement. It just happened to average out to a net gain.

That would explain why Caterpillar was up. Exxon Mobil and Chevron were up, too.
