CHICAGO A man trying to rob a store in Auburn Gresham was shot by a security guard Wednesday night, police said.
At 7:56 p.m., a store in the 8100 block of South Racine Avenue was closing when the 18-year-old man walked up, took out a gun and said he was robbing the store, police said.
A security guard fired shots at the man, hitting him, police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition.
Score one for the good guys.
No word yet on the offenders GPA or chosen Ivy League university.
