It is in fact a government option.

Oh hell no.

Get the government out of the whole system. Every since that disgusting man Ted Kennedy got his fingers in the industry it’s gone to crap. What was wrong with the good ol’ days when a family doctor was paid cash, did house calls, or paid with chickens if you were broke? What happened to charity hospitals?

Why no ala cart care now? Why do I have to buy a plan that gives me gynocological care? Because the government wants the power and use health care as a political tool to punish and reward.

What is your plan that covers everyone? Just the ER room?

I have a problem with the 'across state lines' insurance buying.

Insurance companies measure risk. Males learning to drive pay a higher premium than females because of the increase in risk.

If males all banded together and went to court and sued claiming sexism, what would be the result? The insurance companies will not leave themselves exposed to risk, so they will just raise the rates of female drivers to the same amount. Problem solved for them, but angry overpaying-for-low-risk female drivers.

Cross line insurance buying is the same thing. If you live in a meat and potato, potato couch zip code with very little physical activity(high risk), why should you be allowed to get insurance from a zip code that promotes physical activity, kale eating and no red meat, who live to a hundred(low risk)(I know, boring)?

So what will happen if it is allowed? The insurance companies, once again, will not allow themselves to be exposed to under funded risk, so they will raise the rates for everyone.

We don't have a plan to cover everyone, we have never had a plan to cover everyone, and will never have a plan to cover everyone at a cost this country can afford. And we may as well accept that.

Noting that the states have never expressly constitutionally delegated to the feds the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for INTRAstate healthcare purposes, the states have always had the 10th Amendment-protected power to tax and spend for healthcare purposes.

In fact, lawless Obama should have tried to establish Obamacare in Illinois when he was a state senator. This would have given Illinois the opportunity to experiment with healthcare to try to make sure that it actually worked.

But the major problem not only for Illinois, but for all the states with respect to experimenting with their own healthcare programs is the following. Since the corrupt federal government has essentially been stealing state revenues from the states for many decades, stealing such revenues in the form of unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes which corrupt Congress’ cannot justify under its constitutional, Article I, Section 8-limited powers, the states basically cannot afford to experiment with healthcare programs as the Founding States had intended for them to do. Thomas Jefferson had explained it as follows.

So patriots need to get the word to president-elect Trump to do either of the following.

Trump has a plan - probably a lot of his supporters will be pissed about the safety nets he puts in place because they’re too stupid to understand it is necessary to the effort to excise the cancer of ObamaCare....

“the GOP had done nothing, for the entire last generation.”

Providing healthcare was not the job of the GOP the entire last generation. It’s not the job of the government now ... period.

- - - - -

“Lots of Americans need to have guaranteed care.”

Why? Not the government’s job.

Well the government does a whole huge lot about healthcare which in my opinion needs to be repealed.

All of it. Requirements about education. Requirements about everything. All of it, drives up the cost of healthcare.

Until the government is not involved at all, however, they need to make it inexpensive.

One of the other.

Not both, like we have now.

Either government is very involved. Or government is not involved at all.

One or the other.

No that is is not correct. Everyone can go to the ER — That has been the law for 20 years. We don’t let poor people die in the street. Trump clearly stated the system of replacement with not allow people to die in the street. Dieing in the street is off the table. Is that what you want? death in the street? Do away with the ER? Seems harsh in many hypothetical scenarios. I am trying to create a stem that will actually work and restore a private option and a public option. — YOU CHOOSE— I see no argument against that. Ill tell you one thing— we better put up or shut up because we are going to repeal obamacare- Not fix it!!

Funny how so many conservatives on this forum still believe that government ought be part of the solution.

We apparently have a culture of when-convenient conservatives in the room.

Lots of Americans WANT to have guaranteed care at the expense of others. Take your socialism somewhere else.

It is not socialism to insist that Americans are covered. Before Obamacare, a lot of Americans weren’t covered.

That is just ridiculous.

American healthcare is outrageously expensive. And far, far too many weren’t even covered.

Too expensive. That is because the government is way, way, way too involved in mandating everything.

Until the government is out of it, they NEED to make it cheaper.

Just my opinion.

You make good points. The Insurance underwriters use loss analyses based on many demographic and actuarial factors . They can’t do that if applications are taken from coal miners in other states. The Mc carran Ferguson law is still the federal law prohibiting cross state line sale on insurance . It has been the law for 70 years.
It appears to be a Trump requirement but there are two reasons you are right 1. rates will have to deal with unassessed demographics and 2. who regulates these policy provisions?

But we must reestablish demand and supply free enterprise competition to the health care system . But it works as private pay and all can’t get access— that is where we need the public option. There must be a safety net.

Either government is very involved running your life. Or government is not involved at all.

Fixed it.

How does the government do that without being involved?

Remove the tons of laws about medical care.

The government is (far) too involved. Around the world, the medical establishments are aok without all the laws we have about care.

It is why healthcare elsewhere, is cheap.
