President-elect Donald Trumps transition team has put together a whos who short list of Trump surrogates and advisers to take top positions in his administration next year, ranging from former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani for attorney general to 39-year-old Rep. Duncan Hunter Jr. to be the secretary of defense.
The list of 41 names, obtained by BuzzFeed News, covers 13 departments, the attorney general, Office of Management and Budget, White House chief of staff, and White House counsel.
A source familiar with the list stressed it was not final, and it is unclear whether transition officials have narrowed it down or added more potential candidates for consideration by Trump.

Education secretary for Ben Carson is good. Perhaps running the VA system.
Hearing rumblings of Newt Gingrich for Secretary of State. I love the idea and hate the idea.
Ben Carson has supported Trump the whole way. Good man.
SoS.....John Bolton
Why not Duncan Hunter, Sr., for secretary of defense?
Good possibilities for AG, but Rudy seems most “gritty” and determined to clean out the Department of Justice. The others might temporize more than needed.
It will be very interesting, to see how Sarah Palin figures in a Trump administration.
This will be very interesting.
Congratulations Trump.
I second Bolton for SOS. Just a natural fit.
Can’t remember the post name, but it’s the top medical post. How about Dr Carson for that?
Bolton knows where all the bodies are buried.
The Department for Education needs to be eliminated. It’s a waste of money and cesspool of socialist freeloaders.
Carson for surgeon general.
I would think it would be hard to get Senate confirmation for Palin with opposition within her own party.
That would be a short term position if the Dept. of Ed is dismantled.
We need Sheriff Joe pardoned and put in Trump’s administration.
Surgeon General. That’s too cliche. Don’t think he’s been in this for Surgeon General spot.
Buzzfeed ? Let it go, just let it go.
We should not have a Department of Education. We should not have a Department of Agriculture, Energy, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, Labor, or Transportation.
Leave the cabinet positions vacant while introducing legislation to eliminate the departments. Pension off the older employees, give a lump-sum severance bonus to the younger ones.
Government departments by their very nature breed corruption and seek ever more power and resources at the expense of the citizens.
I was thinking Trey Gowdy for AG. Surprised to not see him on the list.
Not surprised.trey went for sound bytes..and accomplished nothing
Trump...please consider preet in ny for special prosector
Preibus is probably because of some deal made.
