I’m not sure California’s secession would make any difference. After they become their own country, we’ll just end up supporting them like we support all the others.
Now if all the illegals start self-deporting, we’ll be well on our way to what this country needs even before Trump takes office.

Basically the rest of the country would become much more conservative and we could watch california collapse of its own weight.

Actually, we'll need to re-route the wall so it excludes California from the US, as well. Otherwise, we'll have the same problem as now: illegal immigrants fleeing the hell-hole of California.
