Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu congratulated Donald Trump on Wednesday, following his victory in Tuesdays election.
Netanyahu, who assiduously avoided commenting on the race prior to the vote, called Trump a true friend of Israel.
Following criticism by left-leaning media outlets that he had appeared to side with Mitt Romney in 2012, the Prime Minister remained mum on this years election, going so far as to order government ministers not to make public statements on the issue.
Netanyahu said he looked forward to working with the 45th President of the United States, adding that the bond between the US and Israel was ironclad.

A wonderful victory for Israel. This vote was not just for America, but also for our best friends in the world, Israel.
Smile ping
More bad news for the bad guys.
Invite Bibi to WH day after Inauguration.
Excellent!!
Heck, invite him to the inauguration.
Through the front door this time. And no Muslim Brotherhood presence anymore.
Israel SHOULD be happy Trump will be POTUS after odumbo and his ilk have been treating them like a 5th world country.
We just returned from a tour of Jordan and Israel. Israel is a must see destination.
My first thoughts in the wee hours when Trump-Pence won was Thank You Jesus and God has blessed Israel this morning!
Jerusalem might soon be the capital of Israel!!!
Pray God keeps both leaders safe.
I agree, best trip of my life! Part of our blessing from God is that we are to love Israel and its people. I felt deep in my soul when the current resident in the WH turned his back on Israel & was trying to tear it apart we were suffering the beginnings of God turning from Us. I will not argue today with people here about my feelings for Israel.
Go forward President Tump and help heal our nation. It will be a battle.
I’ll bet Trump didn’t answer the phone call like Obama did when he won.
“Yeah, what do you want, Jew-boy?”
Good for Netanyahu ...
May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, God of the house of David bless the nation of Israel with wisdom, strength and long suffering.
We are with you Benjamin.
My wife and I both wish we had the money to go to Israel, but we don’t. I guess I will see Jerusalem in the New Jerusalem one day in the future as the Lord brings it down to earth. That will be nice. I am so looking forward to it.
