I have very liberal ex-friends who REFUSE to acknowledge a bias in the media. They will go to their graves defending that lie by remaining wilfully ignorant. These are very sharp college-educated professionals, but liberalism is their religion so it trumps all data.
They can’t be alone. There are a lot of liberals out their who have their head in the sand about anything that can upset their preconceived world view about the “evils” of conservatism, patriotism, God and family. If it means wilfully “seeing no evil” in the media, that is just what I do.
I had this guy tell me that if Obama nominated a black felon for his cabinet, that would still be a good move because it is not racist and the good of having a black cabinet member trumps the felony.
These people will rationalize anything to suck on the liberal tit and not see reality for what it is. Being a couple, they are an echo chamber who bounce the lies off each other so they can nod and pretend those lies are the truth.
It is stunning to see such brilliant people torture all logic and truth to remain die-hard liberals and support their favorite causes.
These are the people who you could show video of Hitlery shooting Vince Foster in cold blood and they would say it was just doctored or it was a holloween stunt by Hillary & Vince. Anything to deny the truth and keep the fragile wall of illusion up to protect their intense liberalism.
This is why I don’t have any liberal friends. I rejected them all 20 years ago.
I can relate, I too have a life long friend who is liberal and literally the smartest man I know, in everything except politics. I used to enjoy talking politics with him but since I have shared with him info I glean from conservative web sites about the queen of crime, he now is rude and defensive. I told him recently that truth is absolute and its what is right, not who is right. He obviously didn’t like hearing that and has since stopped responding to me altogether. Maybe that will change after the election.
I have a copy of a few articles I keep with me. One of my favorites is the “Son of Satan” Paul Ryan from when he was voted vice presidential candidate at the Republican convention. It’s just so much fun to go over with libs when they insist there is NO bias.
They say there is NO bias. I say, “Doesn’t this look like a scene out of HELL?” They say, “Papers do that to everyone!” I say “Yes! I remember when they did this to Barack Obama....Ummm.... in fact, I think he had a halo over HIS head....”
The infamous Son of Satan NY Times front page. They’ll never live that one down. There have been plenty of other media bias examples, but that one is captain obvious. The gift that keeps on giving.
