Absolutely. The Chinese statement on the surface is illogical - why would China care about GW, they are by far, and will be in the future also, the biggest emitter of carbon as well as real pollutants?
The answer is that the US/Obama have probably agreed to cut off America's economic nose to spite our face to get an agreement. China is indeed in favor of anything that weakens the USA or ties down the USA multi-laterally.

As a child of the 50's and 60's, I remember the smog alerts on a daily basis in Los Angeles. Those alerts suggested people stay inside and children not allowed to play outside during recess. Those stopped some decades back. Yet, you can't see 2 miles in Bejing.
