The whole idea was such a farce that it could only be sold once America had been dumbed down to the point that Obama actually could say that some employers would see a “3000 percent reduction” in their costs for providing health insurance which would mean, “They could give you a raise.” He should have been removed from office under the twenty fifth amendment as it is obvious that any president who thinks that such a thing as a 3000 percent reduction in anything is possible is incapabe of discharging the duties of his office but an amazingly large percentage of Americans don’t seem to notice the mathematical impossibility of such an action. It is not good to allow the president to get away with speaking gibberish, especially when it appears to be UNintentional.

The system was not what we need. We need a system where if people pay for coverage, they get coverage. Regardless of employment, or previous medical conditions.
That is important, especially now that our employment situation becomes ever-more critical.
The GOP did not do one thing. Nothing. Granted Obamacare was not what we need, but the GOP was entirely out of things for several decades.
We need the government to do something. What we had was not good for America.
It just wasn’t. Entirely too dependent upon employment, and entirely too dependent upon good health.

It is good, but it is extremely expensive.
The thing is, the GOP did not have any better idea.
Nothing.
Even if you are a “low earner getting a free ride” Obamacare is unaffordable. Even if most of your premium is subsidized, if you are a low earner you cannot afford the co-pays and deductibles. For many people $6,000 is no different than $1 million dollars. They cannot afford either one. So essentially, they can’t afford the ‘insurance’ anyway. They’d be better off uninsured. At least they could occasionally pay for actual health care at a doctor of their choice.
The subsidies go to the insurance companies who are on the government gravy train. They can constantly raise premiums and because the taxpayers will pick up the tab. They don’t have to compete.
Our whole medical system will crash if the witch is elected...

Just saying. If anyone needs insurance for next year, the sign-up period is going on for another month.
Not saying Obamacare is a good thing. But if you don’t have insurance, it is better than leaving things to chance.

By the way, for anyone considering dropping Douchecare, the penalty is a toothless threat. The IRS explicitly cannot seize assets, garnish wages or put liens in place to collect the penalty. All they can do is deduct it from your refund. So if you work the numbers so that you don’t get a refund, no penalty.
with all due respect, after the 16 ammenndment is repealed, you get to keep all your income.
Disagree, it is not the role of government, politicians and lawyers to run healthcare—that is the job of healthcare professionals. Try taking care of yourself and stop whining about somebody else doing it for you-—time to grow up.
Health insurance has only been around for what 60 years? We managed to populate the planet with 4 billion plus people before anyone ever heard of healthcare insurance. What nonsense to suggest we must have insurance.
Our government is extensively involved in US healthcare.
There are oodles of government requirements, regarding healthcare.
As long as the government is so involved, the government has to have a system to provide it, cheaply.
I am all for deregulation, to make it cheaper. But that is not what we have. We have the government so very involved in every single aspect of healthcare, from licensing, to rules, laws, and a million things, which need to be ended.
Until they are ended, the government need to make it cheaper.
Just my opinion.
High tech healthcare is going to cost high tech dollars. Tax credits, the easy fix. If you want cheaper simply refuse the High tech medical procedures and diagnostics. It is not the role of government to set prices.
