Disaster sums up the skyrocketing premiums and lack of choice facing many of the 11 million people enrolled in the exchange plans. The plans are unaffordable, unless youre a low earner getting a free ride.
ObamaCare enrollees arent the only people being clobbered. If you get insured at work as 155 million people do your deductibles are up a staggering 49 percent since 2011 thanks to ObamaCare. Part-timers are working fewer hours, so business owners can avoid the laws employer mandate. Taxpayers are on the hook for some 50 new taxes.
Seniors get hit the hardest. More than half of ObamaCares costs are paid for by cutting Medicare, resulting in stingy care for seniors.
[snip]
Clinton promises voters that shell make ObamaCare better with billions of dollars of extra spending. But shes not going to remove the mandates causing people to lose work hours or their jobs. As for the regulations suffocating doctors, count on Hillary to pile on more.
Worst of all, Clinton wants to expand Medicare to people in their 50s. Seniors are already having a hard time finding a doctor to treat them for Medicares low rates. Adding millions of 50-somethings trying to see the same doctors will make it impossible to get an appointment.

I agree Trump seems to be on the right track about this.
Repeal, AND REPLACE Obamacare.
But you have to be honest, the GOP did nothing while they had the controls in Washington.
Nothing.
Remember, folks, this was purposeful. We’re supposed to clamor for the “single-payer” plan.
The goal was always to weaken us into submission. There is only ONE way to rescue American medicine: end all government involvement and return to Free Market Medicine. Then and only then, if you like your doctor and can afford to pay his bill, you can keep him.
If you can’t afford his bill, you will either seek a charity hospital, such as a teaching hospital, or you die. Prior to Medicare/Medicaid, 1968, all Americans understood the fact that not everyone could receive expensive, life-saving treatment.
When did Americans begin to believe they ought to get the same medical care that a rich person gets?
I’m not on 0bamacare but my plan (and all plans) have to be “0bamacare compliant”. So my deductible is 5000 per person and 12500 for the family.
That means I’ve got catastrophic coverage but I’m paying the price of a platinum plan.
Hate it
Obamacare is the same thing they put people in jail for, a bait and switch scam intended to lighten your wallet and control your behavior. We do not need obamacare, or its replacement. We need free markets for health care, and savings accounts.

Lets remind everyone that under Hillary, the IRS will be the enforcer for
Obamacare. If you cant keep up with the rising premiums, Hillary and
Obama made sure the relentless IRS will squeeze it out of you.
Nice to know Dumbocrats are sucking-up to Hillary on
the campaign trail-—and that party loyalty is still kicking.
There’s a lot of Democrat amnesia when it comes to O/Care’s Congressional voter history. As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the “Affordable Care Act:”
QUOTING OBAMA: “No. 1, let me just repeat, if youve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All Im going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. Youll still have choice of doctor.
Repeated over and over by every loyal Democrat—— conning Americans into believing they’d also be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.
LOCK-STEPPING DEMOCRAT PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1930-40’s ERA EUROPE.
SEN. HARRY REID (D-Nev.): In fact, one of our core principles is that if you like the health care you have, you can keep it. (Sen. Reid, Congressional Record, S.8642, 8/3/09)
SEN. RICHARD DURBIN: We believe and we stand by this if you like your current health insurance plan, you will be able to keep it, plain and simple, straightforward. (Sen. Durbin, Congressional Record, S.6401, 6/10/09)
SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY): If you like your insurance, you keep it. (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Bill Mark-Up, 9/29/09)
SEN. PATTY MURRAY (D-Wash.): Again, if you like what you have, you will be able to keep it. Let me say this again: If you like what you have, when our legislation is passed and signed by the President, you will be able to keep it. (Sen. Murray, Congressional Record, S.6400, 6/10/09)
SEN. MAX BAUCUS (D-Mont.): That is why one of the central promises of health care reform has been and is: If you like what you have, you can keep it. That is critically important. If a person has a plan, and he or she likes it, he or she can keep it. (Sen. Baucus, Congressional Record, S.7676, 9/29/10)
SEN. TOM HARKIN (D-Iowa): One of the things we put in the health care bill when we designed it was the protection for consumers to keep the plan they have if they like it; thus, the term grandfathered plans. If you have a plan you like existing policies you can keep them. we said, if you like a plan, you get to keep it, and you can grandfather it in. (Sen. Harkin, Congressional Record, S.7675-6, 9/29/10)
THEN-REP. TAMMY BALDWIN (D-Wis.): Under the bill, if you like the insurance you have now, you may keep it and it will improve. (Rep. Baldwin, Press Release, 3/18/10)
SEN. MARK BEGICH (D-Alaska): If you got a doctor now, you got a medical professional you want, you get to keep that. If you have an insurance program or a health care policy you want of ideas, make sure you keep it. That you can keep who you want. (Sen. Begich, Townhall Event, 7/27/09)
SEN. MICHAEL BENNET (D-Colo.): We should begin with a basic principle: if you have coverage and you like it, you can keep it. If you have your doctor, and you like him or her, you should be able to keep them as well. We will not take that choice away from you. (Sen. Bennet, Press Release, 6/11/09)
SEN. BARBARA BOXER (D-Calif.): So we Democrats want people to be able to keep the health care they have. And the answer to that is choice of plans. And in the exchange, were going to have lots of different plans, and people will be able to keep the health care coverage they need and they want. (Sen. Boxer, Press Release, 2/8/11)
SEN. SHERROD BROWN (D-Ohio): Our Democrat bill says if you have health insurance and you like it, you can keep it (Sen. Brown, Congressional Record, S.12612, 12/7/09)
SEN. BEN CARDIN (D-Md.): For the people of Maryland, this bill will provide a rational way in which they can maintain their existing coverage (Sen. Cardin, Congressional Record, S.13798, 12/23/09)
SEN. BOB CASEY (D-Pa.): I also believe this Democrat legislation and the bill we are going to send to President Obama this fall will also have secure choices. If you like what you have, you like the plan you have, you can keep it. It is not going to change. (Sen. Casey, Congressional Record, S.8070, 7/24/09)
SEN. KAY HAGAN (D-N.C.): People who have insurance theyre happy with can keep it We need to support the private insurance industry so that people who have insurance theyre happy with can keep it while also providing a backstop option for people without access to affordable coverage. SEN. BOB MENENDEZ (D-N.J.): If you like what you have, you get to keep it Menendez is a member of the Senate Finance Committee, which is expected to release a bill later this week. He stressed that consumers who are satisfied with their plans wont have to change. If you like what you have, you get to keep it, he said. (Health Care Plan Would Help N.J., Menendez Says, The Record, 6/19/09)
SEN. JEFF MERKLEY (D-Oreg.): [E]nsuring that those who like their insurance get to keep it The HELP Committee bill sets forward a historic Democrat plan that will, for the first time in American history, give every American access to affordable health coverage, reduce costs, and increase choice, while ensuring that those who like their insurance get to keep it. (Sen. Merkley, Press Release, 7/15/09)

SEN. JEANNE SHAHEEN (D-N.H.): if you have health coverage that you like, you get to keep it My understanding is that if you have health coverage that you like you can keep it. As I said, you may have missed my remarks at the beginning of the call, but one of the things I that I said as a requirement that I have for supporting a Democrat bill is that if you have health coverage that you like you should be able to keep that. under every scenario that Ive seen, if you have health coverage that you like, you get to keep it. (Sen. Shaheen, Health Care Questions From Across New Hampshire, Accessed 11/13/13)
SEN. DEBBIE STABENOW (D-Mich.): As someone who has a large number of large employers in my state, one of the things I appreciate about the Democrat chairmans remark is is the grandfathering provisions, the fact that the people in my state, 60 percent of whom have insurance, are going to be able to keep it. And Mr. Chairman, I appreciate that. Thats a strong commitment. Its clear in the bill I appreciate the strong commitment on your part and the president to make sure that if you have your insurance you can keep it. Thats the bottom line for me. (U.S. Senate, Finance Committee, Bill Mark-Up, 9/24/09)
SEN. JON TESTER (D-Mont.): If you like your coverage, youll be able to keep it, Tester said, adding that if Medicare changes, it will only become stronger. (Tester In Baker To Discuss Health Care, The Fallon County Times, 11/20/09)

Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) the 60th vote on Obamacare: “people who are happy with their current plan, wouldn’t need to change it.”

Just received notice that my insurance company will no longer pay for the medicine that keeps me from going blind.
It isn’t just that your non-ObamaCare plan has to be “ObamaCare compliant”; your insurance provider (if it is a large company) probably provides ObamaCare plans and has to make up the losses suffered there by screwing the other clients. That is the situation in which I am; wouldn’t touch an ObamaCare plan (and thankfully don’t have to), but my employer-provided insurance is through a large company that has suffered heavy losses under ObamaCare.
This is a tax, and an economic drag on productive people to enshrine more “free sh!t” for unproductive people in law.
People have described the whole “basic income” concept, and basically that is what we are living; our elites haven’t just determined a minimum to be given away to welfarians, but have also put obstacles in place to stop working people from ever moving up the socio-economic ladder. Some of us put our nose to the grindstone and try to tough it out, while more and more simply drop out of the rat race. Fake disability, “golden ticket welfare bastards” being born to white females...we are entering a “post-work” economy. Nancy Pelosi touted this when she said a government check was basically the equivalent of a paycheck (with no consideration as to how those government checks were funded).
My insurance went up 40% this year. I assure you my pay didn’t go up that much.
“When did Americans begin to believe they ought to get the same medical care that a rich person gets?”
When they became silly and stupid enough to believe that health care is a “basic human right”, forgetting that any activity that is a basic human right can be engaged in if you are the last surviving human on the Earth. If it has to be provided by another human being it is not and cannot be a basic human right. To believe that one has a right to enjoy expensive health care that can only be provided by people who have spent many years in training even though you have not learned how to earn the money to pay for it is madness. Ayn Rand did a very good job of explaining all this.
AAAAAAmen, AAAAAAAmen, AAAAAAmen, Amen, Amen. Papa was a carpenter and Grandpa too but neither one ever hit a nail more squarely on the head.
My monthly premium went up four times the amount of my miniscule monthly COLA Cost of living increase in my retirement check. It’s not a good sign for the future, it’s a frog in the boiling water scenario. BTW, a relative of mine is in the Obama exchange and their yearly premium doubled. Another relative lost their job this year in the healthcare industry and now has to scramble for insurance. This person lost their job in our ‘work them hard for seven-eight years then lay them off’ economy where hardworking middle class people are disposable.
Every member of the GOP voted against the demrat hijacking of our healthcare. Show me a single GOP that voted for it.
No replacement, just get rid of the lawyer-run “healthcare.”
If you want to help people, then allow tax credits for medical expenses—90% of problem solved the easy and common sense way.
Wrong. I am one of those low earners getting a "free ride". My 2017 premiums will be close to double what they are now and the subsidies have gone down.
I make less than 30K and live in Los Angeles and can no longer afford "affordable care."
Tax credits for all medical expenses, and most of the problem is solved.
And tax credits for all medical expenses.
I was ready, willing and able to get a new insurance plan, but I was told by every insurance carrier that I didn't have a "qualifying life event" to get a policy until the open enrollment period.
That was the end of it for me. My goal is to make sure I never have a "qualifying life event" to deal with any of this sh!t for the rest of my life, so I'm checking out of the system completely.
Personally, I don't give a sh!t what happens with ObamaCare anymore. Every man, woman and child for yourselves, folks.
Sometimes I hate when I'm right.
