In Virginia, ex-felons find empowerment in the voting booth
CNN ^

By the age of 16, Muhamad As-saddique Abdul-Rahman was already a felon. Thirty-seven years later, he is ready to be called something else -- a voter.

When Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced his plan in April to restore voting rights to more than 200,000 felons, Abdul-Rahman, who spent nearly two decades behind bars for armed robbery before struggling with drug and alcohol abuse, immediately logged online to check on his voting status. He discovered that, for the first time in his life, he was eligible to vote.

"I was not whole when I came out of prison, both politically and emotionally," says Abdul-Rahman, 53. "But having my right to vote back has made me feel whole as a human being."

Couple this with Obama telling ILLEGAL ALIENS to go vote (which is a felony)...

RIGGED?

Forget who got robbed, killed, raped...doesn’t matter.

As long as the assailants get to vote. /s

A violation of the Constitution of The United States.

And, a vote for Hillary Clinton.

Are you helpless?? Get a damn shovel, pick it up, and throw it into a garbage can!

This moron should be voting?

Has that been verified? The Sidebar Moderator pulled that thread for some reason.

What’s an “ex-felon”? He’s going to be heartbroken when he goes on line to check his “status” about being allowed to purchase a firearm. LOL.

Shouldn’t this be brought before the Supreme Court?

Probably should be. A felon is a felon. The ‘RATS want this Muzzie to vote badly because they know it means they will have another voter on their rolls. Felons, America-hating foreigners and illegal alien freeloaders are now their largest voting block.

Muhammad does not need to buy a gun — he gets it and the ammo free from ISIS or Al-Qaeda.

"But having my right to vote back has made me feel whole as a human being."

What the hell does that even mean? Human beings aren't "whole." We have profound spiritual deficiencies. That's how we're made. But you're supposed to turn to God to solve the problem, not crime. And voting ain't gonna help it.

Damn democrat crap...

Perfect constituency. They can import them and place them strategically where needed most.

There truly is no election of more importance than this one since 1864. Lose this time, and it’s game over folks.

I think you’re right. I responded to someone the other day who was convinced inner city blacks were going to vote Hillary. I said I think Trump has FAR more street cred than an old white grandma. I think that’s the case here, too.

My computer doesn’t do too well with steam all around it, so I’ll move on.

People that make mistakes should be forgiven at some point. That point is when they have lived in society for a period of time and kept their nose clean. This shows they are under control enough to make better decisions than they were.

Frankly at least five years and preferably ten should be the minimum.

They must be off probation. They must not have any future brushes with the law.

Something like two strikes and you’d never be able to vote again.

We want decent law abiding citizens to vote. We do not want folks who have screwed up so bad they’ve gone to prison, particularly while they are in, or just out.
