The University of Texas at Austin will ignore demands from student officials to disband a young conservative student group following a controversial affirmative action bake sale last week.
The bake sale instantly drew large crowds of protesters, many claiming the bake sale was a hate crime. A petition demanding the removal of the group also circulated the campus and as of Thursday, it has 863 signatures.
A resolution, filed by multiple members of the UT student government, called on the UT administration to not only disband Young Conservatives of Texas but demanding that they university respond to future incidents by putting an individual or organization on disciplinary probation, suspending them or expelling them from campus.

Texas fights a holding action against the Red Guards of academia.
They’ve held various forms of that bake sale in the past.
both the petition and resolution will not be acknowledged by the university because the bake sale is considered a form of protected speech, making participants immune to punishment by the public university.
But the 863 that Conspired in this Hateful Un-American attack on Free Speech will be EXPELLED.
That is how it should end.
cripes...what’s the big deal ? isn’t that like a Harlem Rent party ?
It’s wonderful to crow about Texas, but when Chicago did it the Chicagoans weren’t so “vocal” about it.
And here I always thought Texas was full of real MEN AND WOMEN, not pansy-ass snowflake whiney limp-wristed pajama boys..................
Is that where they charge Asians the most, then Whites, thenLatinos and blacks paying the least for cupcakes?
Crowing?
I’m more in despair about the rising cultural tide of red mud. That’s why I used the words “holding action.”
Austin is every bit as liberal as San Jose, Ca.
Fair enough. I tend to dislike the Texans with the big hats.
Well, I hope they keep them all in one place...............
Me too, hoping it doesn’t spread.
How many students at UT?..........
Well, being liberals, they would not seek the death penalty.
Yes, that is what it is. These were very popular a few years ago. Glad to see some students still want to do them. It looks like the bake sales are still effective at making their political point. Leftist Dems hate to see their racist policies clearly demonstrated. If Dem students were smart, they would simply have a Black student go over and buy them out right away at a cheap price, so the conservatives would have nothing left to sell.
Austin and Dallas are like liberal east coast cities plopped on the plains.
The Dallas suburbs and Fort Worth are much more conservative. Houston is more conservative, though San Antonio is pretty liberal.
I would expect that from A&M but not Texas. Shocking
Since when is the truth a "hate crime?"
