Fascism because it is nominally private ownership of industry with an authoritarian regime dictating every detail, but not the textbook ‘nationalist’ flavor of fascism, more of a progressive globalist fascism.

What’s the penalty, $2500? I’d rather pay that

Thanks for the feedback.

Looks like an excellent alternative of Obozoterminalcare.

Prayers for the innocent affected by this horror. As for the idiots who vote for it... Embrace the suck.

Prince of Fools

The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their president. 2008 Czech Newspaper Editorial

I have been on Medicare for 21 years and have never had a doctor turn me down.

Well there is a new experience ahead for you.

Five people in our family (including immediate relatives) just lost our family doctor...got letters saying everyone (to include existing accounts) must pay a $1,800 yearly fee per person to continue to get any appointments (just to get an appointment and then there is also the insurance copays, deductibles, etc on top of that).

Well, that is one way to weed out the MediCal, etc patients.
Seems it is also a way to get same money with fewer patients...seems new regs increasing paperwork burden, etc

The hell of it is these dumb shits that salivated for uncle sugar to take care of them cost me a lot more money in my employer provided “Cadillac health plan” as well - this started 4-5 years ago as all of this was staring to be debated. My premiums have gone way up for a lot less coverage and high deductibles that I never paid just 2 years ago. Now I have a lot less choice, my out of pocket costs have soared and these people want to complain about the misery they were too stupid to see that they would cause not only themselves, but everyone else?

The best part is; I have the luxury of being taxed to pay for their stupidity not once, but twice... Once when I pay my federal taxes and once when I get taxed on my supposed “Cadillac” health plan.

They can all piss up a rope, or better yet ESAD!

A percentage of your income (it was 1%, I think this year it goes up to 2%, then rises until it hits something like 15% after a period of years), or whatever the fine is, which also increments yearly, whichever is greater. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at the details, so I’m fuzzy on the specifics.

The beauty of it is, the IRS cannot garnish your wages or charge interest on it, so if you make it such that you always owe some money to the IRS, they can never take it from your refund and they cannot pursue you for it.

I just searched for “what is the obamacare penalty this year” and found this:

October 31, 2016 Health, Managing Health Insurance

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) removed obstacles that prevented some people from buying health insurance — but not everyone has signed up, and not everyone who did sign up kept their coverage. Because of that, millions will owe the individual shared responsibility payment, better known as the Obamacare penalty or ACA penalty, when they file taxes.
Who pays the Obamacare penalty

The ACA’s individual mandate requires everyone in the U.S. to have health insurance, unless you qualify for an exemption.

If you go more more than three full, consecutive months without health insurance, you’ll pay a tax penalty for that year. If you have health insurance for only one day of a month, it doesn’t count as a month without health insurance.

Here’s an example: Say you go without health insurance for all of January and February. Then you buy health insurance and it goes into effect on the last day of March. You do not have to pay a tax penalty; you didn’t go without health insurance for three full consecutive months.
How much the Obamacare penalty costs

The penalty’s cost is calculated in one of two ways: You’ll either pay a percentage of your total household adjusted gross income — which you’ll figure on your annual tax return — or a flat rate, whichever is greater. Your tax return will also help you determine your penalty amount.

Each year, the penalty will increase to keep pace with inflation and encourage people to buy coverage.

For tax year 2016, the penalty will rise to 2.5% of your total household adjusted gross income, or $695 per adult and $347.50 per child, to a maximum of $2,085.

For tax year 2017 and beyond, the percentage option will remain at 2.5%, but the flat fee will be adjusted for inflation.
(SOURCE: https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/health/how-much-is-the-obamacare-penalty-not-having-health-insurance/)

And this:
The amount will be either 2.5% of your modified adjusted gross income (MAGI) or a flat rate amount, whichever is higher. You’ll need to estimate your 2016 income to calculate the 2016 penalty. Any IRS fine won’t be payable until you file a tax return in 2017.

Be sure to check if you will qualify for an exemption, to avoid incurring an Obamacare fine, if you were without health insurance for 3+ months during 2016.

Compare this with high pay of Pharma CEOs.

http://www.ibtimes.com/healthcare-pharma-ceos-paid-more-top-execs-any-other-industry-analysis-finds-2374013

1. Leonard Schleifer Regeneron Pharms $47,462,526 13
2. Jeffrey M. Leiden Vertex Pharms $28,099,826 -23
3. Larry J. Merlo CVS Health $22,855,374 -6
4. Robert J. Hugin Celgene $22,472,912 -7
5. Alex Gorsky Johnson & Johnson $21,128,866 3
6. Michael Neidorff Centene $20,755,103 8
7. Alan B. Miller Univ. Health Svs. $20,427,309 11
8. Kenneth C. Frazier Merck & Co. $19,898,438 -7
9. Miles D. White Abbott Labs. $19,410,704 16
10. John C. Martin Gilead Sciences $18,755,952 -1
+ Show 31 more
The CEOs from 11 through 20, show salaries ranging from just under $19million to just under $15million Since other top executives are similarly highly paid, consider just how much this adds to the cost of medical care.

Thank you for posting that. Looks like I got on w/ the VA at just the right time, mid- to late-March this year. Ironically, I owe that rat-bastard & his increasingly back-breaking Nobamacare penalties for saving me from the cancer I didn’t know I had.

Wouldn’t keep me from happily strangling to death w/ my bare hands the f’er who dubbed that monstrosity “affordable.” In 2008 I was downsized from a great job yet managed to continue working & retain my home tooth & nail despite earning a third of what I did when I bought the place.

F U Obama & the horse you rode in on, I’m not proud of having “affordable” great health as I leave work for my wonderful cardboard box under a bridge to spend my off hours. Come unroot me from my GI bill financed house you smug turd, I’m not leaving w/out taking all ya’ll with me. I already fought too hard for my place of peace.

Thank you to the VA for rating me a priority group 5 so I pay only an $8 co-pay for some tho not all meds. Thank you to taxpayers including myself. Apologies to war vets who deserve it more than I do. But w/ gov’t holding the IRS gun to my head, I had no choice.

rant off/

This needs to be properly identified as Hillarycare.

She is the one who came up with this crap back in the ‘90s but it didn’t get passed.

It is called Obamacare only because he signed it into law.

This mess was designed to inflict pain toward the end of Obama’s reign. That is why no one listened. It wasn’t affecting them yet.

If you are able to use the VA you deserve it and probably, no, most assuredly should get at least as good if not better care than anyone who is not military. On this point I am in the same camp as Jason Lewis - I’m going to speak my mind and I don’t care who it traumatizes.

It doesn’t matter if you’re a war vet or not! Plenty of military jobs are necessary and dangerous and plenty of people get killed outside of war zones doing normal military work / jobs.

Please don’t discount your service, it isn’t warranted. Though humble and apparently noble, you deserve the same deference all military vets deserve.

My late husband was covered by VA while he was dying of Alzheimers. His medication was $17 per month each for 2 perscriptions.

If I am not mistaken the VA can negotiate with big Pharma for low prices on the medication it makes available. On the other hand Medicare and Medicaid apparently cannot, which costs us a lot extra.
