I have been on Medicare for 21 years and have never had a doctor turn me down.

I live in Upstate NY. Docs around here don’t dump Medicare patients. But many refuse to accept new Medicare patients.
Also, prisoners can have their sex change operation!
It reminds me where one party played a hoax on a certain individual. The individual had placed a request for a two week vacation with his girl friend. Hoaxer heard the telephone conversation and called back the the Vacationer. Hoaxer identified himself as the Travel Agent and indicated there was a problem. All was booked, except that the hotel only had room for them beginning two days into the trip.
Upset, Hoaxer informed the Vacationer, Do Not Worry, you could sleep in one of the hammocks on the Beach. The Vacationer was pixxed and then told by Hoaxer he would call back. Well as it rounded out over several calls, the Vacationer was told that there was only one week available, then it went to don't worry, they gave you the Penthouse. More calls over a few days.
The final straw was when the Vacationer was told the price. Just before the Vacationer left the building, he again questioned Hoaxer. Let me see if I have this right. I am going for half the time at twice the price. Yes, said Hoaxer. and... Elvis left the building.
Funny, but that sums up Obamacare.

Barry has done a good job of bankrupting middle class families due to medical and education costs, while supplying his fellow travelers with free medical care, college tuition and even moving them to the front of the line in the college admission process.
The purpose of Obamacare is to destroy the middle-class.
Nothing will change unless and until a few congressional heads show up on pikes.
This was our second year using a health share. It is so much better. Every Freepers should try it. Cheaper, and every doctor is covered except any mental health.
Especially the self-employed middle class

The country club GOPE establishsment in failing to repeal it are telling us that they are willing to see their taxes raised to do so.
Around here few private practices accept many new Medicaid patients (but generally have some number on the books as patients of record). Medicare people have a somewhat easier time getting appts with private specialists.
However, hospital clinics and community clinics accept both sets of patients with no restrictions, including psych ARNPs (typically). I myself am in one of the above groups and get in with no problem.
You are fortunate. Specialists and solo practitioners are abandoning ship for not only Medicare but all insurance. They can’t afford the cut in rates as well as all the extra staff required to handle the paper and cost of new software in order to comply.
We’ve switched to private pay for cash only for routine stuff and will use insurance only if we are hospitalized. Don’t want our personal and medical info available on the internet for all to see.
