‘Vote for the Crook, It’s Important?’

Readers will remember the runoff race for governor of Louisiana in 1991 in which the notoriously corrupt Edwin Edwards faced off against ex-Klansman David Duke. The race spawned the greatest bumper sticker in American political history: Vote for the Crook. Its Important.
Now it looks like Hillary might need that same kind of sentiment if shes going to win. Take two telling anecdotes from todays Morning Joe. First, Eddie Glaude, Jr., chair of Princetons African-American studies department, told of someone in an airport telling him if theres a crook who is going to go into the cockpit, who knows how to fly the plane, and then theres an idiot who doesnt know how to fly the plane, Im going to vote for the crook. Later, New York Times reporter Yamiche Alcindor said she had spoken to Hillary supporters who worry about whether shes going to end up indicted [but] would rather have Tim Kaine as president if it comes to that than Donald Trump.
If this is the kind of support Hillary is relying on, she is in deep trouble.

Vote for the pilot who will safely navigate the slave ship to port versus the pilot who plans to hijack the slave ship because he’s not experienced at piloting slave ships.

That does not speak well for Hillary!. She has proven her incompetence continuously. She was incompetent trying create Hillary!Care, as a Senator, as Secretary of State, and even as a criminal.
Trump on the other hand, has actual accomplishments in the Real World.

This morning while on my exercycle, I watched a bit of Morning Joe. Seemed like a funeral to me.
And what was that remark about six more days of having the “dry heaves?”

I remember that election - I voted for neither candidate. Frankly, trying to equate Clinton and Trump with Edwards and Duke is specious - and is mostly done as a back-handed way of reviving the Trump-Duke comparison.
In truth, Edwards was (is?) a better candidate than Hillary is every measurable way. Still a corrupt Democrat, sure, but like a drop in the bucket compared with Cankles.

You and I know this, but the electorate is painfully ignorant. Obama had zero accomplishments. He highlighted his shortcomings in his own book -- he was a community organizer who was elected TWICE. Our voters are sleeping, sadly.

Yup. I went to school with David Duke, and the fellow who subsequently created the “Vote for the Crook” slogan.
Duke was considered a lunatic even back then.
What you said about Edwards: I agree. He was a backscratcher, but things did get done that benefitted the state.
