Donald Trump took considerable heat when, during the first Republican primary debate in August 2015, he initially declined to pledge support for the party’s eventual presidential nominee.

But now that Trump is that nominee, his former primary foes are the ones who have split on honoring the pledge.

He initially declined, because the entire field was trashing him, along with the GOPe leaders in DC, and the entire MSM.

He did eventually promise to support the nominee, as I recall, and it didn't take to long for him to do so.

Jeb, Kasich should never be allowed to hold public office. Not honoring a pledge is very serious.

I heard that Kasich wrote in McLaim this morning. Is he up for a re-election as governor soon or has he served the max?

If I had to guess, other than petty personal pique; the deciding issue for both Jeb and our poor excuse for a Governor, here in Ohio, is that the two have allowed themselves to be so intimidated by the "politically correct" bullies in the media, that they feel humiliated by Donald Trump's ease in thrashing those same bullies.

Maybe that is just psycho babble on my part. But how else do you explain the lengths that they have been going to, to call attention to their failure to keep their words?

[the two have allowed themselves to be so intimidated by the “politically correct” bullies]

They exhibit the characteristics of people consumed with a “bitter root.”

Those two might have some "skin in the game", to use one of Obama's overused and hackneyed sayings. The Bushes have cozied up to the Clintons in recent years, and Kasich and Gary Condit were best buddies - not exactly good company.

It's hard to blame any of these GOP hacks for being bitter over this whole thing.

When Trump calls out the Beltway as a corrupt hive of scum and villainy, he's also referring to a House and Senate that are both controlled by the Republican Party.

LOL, yooz gotta be kidding me. Do you really expect a professional Politician to keep a promise? Trump would, because he isn’t a professional politician.

Just great, that quick glance, so that he can gauge how much taller he’ll be in the next quarter-second.

I give a sh*t about Jeb Bush - he’s not in an elected office now, but Kasich and Lindsey Graham are and broke that pledge and they should be punished. I look forward to retaliation time.

Heard Kasich even wrote in John McCain’s name (projectile vomit) but that vote won’t count because he wasn’t “approved as a write-in candidate”. So this MFer is NOT supporting Trump and he is advertising that he wasted his vote on a RINO member of the Senate! Kasich has become a national joke and full-blown enemy of conservatism.

Which makes the headlines about Kasich “standing by his oath to not vote for Trump” all the more Priceless!
