Thank you so much! I signed up today and am following Kim.com and Ohour! Just what I need, another social media thing to pull in my time, haha. But sounds like it will be worth it esp if I keep pretty limited in scope. Thanks so much for the great overview for this Twitter newbie!
I probably need to search around there to understand the little symbols like the @ sign etc but sounds like it will make sense as I go along.Thanks again for the help!

You’re welcome! One thing you will find out is that if you reply to a tweet and type somebody’s Twitter name it will open a drop down box with matches. Pick the person you want to include in the Tweet, click it into your tweet, and you won’t have to know the @ or # symbols. It will autofill for you. I don’t follow Clinton but if I reply to a tweet and start typing Hillary it will automatically open a drop down box for me to add Hillary Clinton @Hillary Clinton to the tweet.

I also have my notifications settings set to only receive notifications from people I follow. That filters out all the trolling libs that want to harass you or curse at you. So, if I include Hillary’s Twitter address to my tweet, her hateful followers won’t be able to troll me when they see the tweet. I don’t get ugly on Twitter but all you have to do with Libs is disagree with them or one of their idols. This setting in Notifications prevents that. If you do that she gets a copy of your tweet and you don’t have to deal with their garbage and potty mouths.

Here's an example of what I was talking about. For example, I want to reply to Lou Dobb's tweet. All I have to do for Clinton to get a copy of the tweet is start typing her name anywhere in the tweet and then pick her out of the drop down box and click her into my tweet. I don't have to know her Twitter name and the symbols that go with it. I didn't actually tweet. I just wanted you to see how to do it.
