Peter Thiel: Trump's agenda about making America normal again

Silicon Valley investor and billionaire Peter Thiel has delivered a spirited defense of the Trump agenda for change, focusing in a wide-ranging speech on the failures of leadership and the future of the Republic.

Mr. Thiel says he is "voting for Trump because other politicians are 'just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.'" Thiel contends that Trumpism is a bad dream for the political establishment:

… To the people who are used to influencing our choice of leaders, to the wealthy people who give money and the commentators who give reasons why, it all seems like a bad dream[.] …

They just want to move on. Come November 9, they hope everyone else will go back to business as usual.

Rock on Mr. Thiel. Methinks (and hopes) the toilet swirl we are seeing is increasing in velocity and soon the clintoons will be flushed down the tubes. This country could not stand a 4 year term of the lyin' king on steroids.

This guy is a total genius!

I do think his speech style was nervous and stilted, I do believe his extemporaneous speaking is actually much more interesting but it is utterly clear to me this guy’s a genius.

he’s also extremely Brave.

I have become a big fan over the past year or so of this guy and I hope we hear much much more from him.

he has so much to offer!

He funds a number of young people to pursue their dreams instead of the college grind. I knew one of them personally. She was a genius in HS and very idealistic. IOW a liberal pursuing what I considered to be a liberal cause. But he funded her dream and she will end up hugely successful, but more importantly entrepreneurial.

Agree.

He made one comment about gay magazine “The Advocate” disowning him because he’s supporting Trump. I believe he said they said he was no longer gay.

Thiel is clearly accepted by conservatives. Conservatives are showing that they’re not as intolerant as the media makes them to be. The Advocate isn’t happy because this doesn’t fit their narrative. They would rather have an us vs. them to continue to sell subscriptions.

I love all these campaign references to the Titanic. I’m a fan of that infamous tragedy. Especially as an example of people avoiding the obvious of what they should be doing (to prepare for their own safety) and instead just hoping for the best.

“Thiel is clearly accepted by conservatives. Conservatives are showing that they’re not as intolerant as the media makes them to be.”

The “conservatives hate gays” narrative is going to be a tough one to dispel. The media just keeps banging that drum. Over the weekend I had a friend come and visit and she is a lesbian. She knows I’m a conservative, but must think I’m not ‘really’ a conservative, or perhaps thinks I’m just a bit stupid and misdirected. For the most part we avoid political discussion, but after the mass shooting at the gay nightclub in Orlando I brought up how the ‘right wing gun nuts’ were being very accommodating to gays who were now starting to arm themselves. It’s going to take lots of small steps like that to show that just because we don’t agree with their ‘choice’ in sexual behavior (which they claim is not at choice at all), doesn’t mean we don’t accept them as human beings. What my lesbian friend has yet to figure out is that many of her core beliefs align much more closely to being a conservative than the insanity of being a libtard.

Peter Theil is indeed a genius, and I’m certain it must be difficult for him to be ostracized by his ‘family’ for publicly showing that being gay does not automatically make him a libtard. I personally know a number of lesbians who other than their sexual preferences are far more conservative not only on fiscal issues, but social issues as well, than most squishy republican politicians. If Peter has any interest in getting involved in politics, it would be wise to accommodate him into the conservative movement. “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

After eight years of the Weirdo in the White House, America’s first Kenyan president, does anyone even remember what normal feels like?

[Peter Thiel: Trump’s agenda about making America normal again]

America will not be normal again until it is honest about the LGBTQ agenda.

One of my closest friends is gay. He and his partner are both politically very conservative. In fact, I don’t know how they do it but they watch Fox News all the time. They cannot stand obama or hillary.

The media tells gays who they’re supposed to support. Fortunately, some are able to think for themselves.
