I’m not sure about McCabe being dirty. His wife had already lost the election McAullife gave the $ for by the time he got promoted to Deputy Director, and from the WSJ article he is the one who told the agents working on the Clinton Foundation investigation to keep going. Although there is a lot of fog, and his wife did get that money, it still could be that he’s just trying to do a tough job under massive political pressure (which should not be present).

I read that article too. I assume the money for an election that was already over was to pay campaign bills or for another run. Still a large contribution like that after the election is over feels wrong.
Another point. The article you mentioned was the only defense of McCabe i’ve seen. I can’t imagine the wife of a high ranking FBI official running a campaign from the left which begs the question why would that scoundrel send cash her way?
