“Globalization” has never been about “trade globalization”, but about “political globalization”. The idea that nations should shed their nationhood and become part of unified trading blocs like the EU.
To start with, it is anti-democratic, across the board, preferring a system of hyper-wealthy elites, who direct an immense bureaucracy, which rules over everyone else. Let’s call them the “peasantry”, because this is how the elites and bureaucrats imagine them.
The two great groups in favor of globalization are internationalist socialists, and multinational corporation corporatists.
The socialists are deficient persons with zero pattern recognition. Useful idiots, as Lenin called them. The corporatists see socialists as the fools they are, but hope to use them to achieve corporatist ends. The socialists *think* they will become the new elite. The corporatists *know* that they will.
However, the rest of us are realizing that both groups are parasites, that take from the body and only create poisonous waste, and should never be allowed to take the reigns of government, because they would ride us all off a cliff.
Which is why globalism must be destroyed. While trade and cooperation continue, its emphasis must singularly be on the people of the nations that join the deal. If elitists profit from it, that is, and should be just a minor side effect.
