declined to share fuel with those who are bombing innocent Syrian children What about Obama bombing innocent Syrian children?

I don’t know but I’d think that the Russians have more that two of them in their arsenal of ships.

BBC says they have a couple oilers in the task group that refueled the ships off the North African coast. Please do not interfere with an anti-Russian propaganda post by introducing facts. (But in all seriousness, good catch, Snickering Hound.)

Confirmation of what I suspected. The story line of this thread is bogus.

Libya has not yet regained consciousness after the revolution, Libyan didn't have a "revolution." Hillary and Barry inserted and armed Al Queda, who then lost to ISIS

The oilers are still there. The original post is a partially-true propaganda piece. Entertaining, but propaganda nevertheless.

The Russisns have significant air already on Syrian airfields and could fly in more with little trouble. This flotilla thing is a PR stunt for a photo op of Russian naval power. To be honest if the Frogs and the EyeTies decided to put an end to this flotilla right now they could do so. The Kuznetsov was a badly designed vessel 30 years ago when she was the Riga or was that Tiblisi, so many name changes. And this is like her 4th cruise to the Med in recent years but people are getting worked up. She really adds little to Russian capability in Syria and is little threat to French, Italian or even Spanish naval forces.

I thought it was coal fired with all that smoke. Spain is a NATO member, no fuel there. Malta has better sense than to refuel this sad sack Navy. Sorry.

This is a prop piece designed to make the Russians look like buffoons -- Do you really think they sent out a fleet on a voyage meant to startle the west, on a mission that is as much psychological as anything else, and forget that ships need fuel?
The US Army just commissioned female infantry officers for the first time. The Navy and Marine Corps are either making gender-neutral or downright eliminating time honored position titles. The Navy is instituting mandatory transsexual sensitivity training. Yes, we should be very afraid of a war with Russia.

Yeah, but they had enough fuel to said all the way around the world to their watery graveyard.

Regardless of politics, that technology is not impotent when it carriers fighters that are more advanced. To discount them, you risk at your own peril.

Her 12 P-700 Granit cruise missiles are a significant threat to all aforementioned naval forces including ours especially if they are nuclear tipped. The Russians could also have one or two Oscar II submarines hanging around which is armed with 96 P-800 Oniks Yakhont (Super Sunburn) missiles which could cause horrific damage.

This is a prop piece designed to make the Russians look like buffoons... Right you are. And both Napoleon and Hitler found out that the Russians are not buffoons.
