They are all too busy dreaming of becoming Woodward or Bernstein. I mean, those two guys changed history! They took down a president! What higher goal could any journalist aspire to?? If only today’s journalists could find a way to take down Donald Trump! Wouldn’t that be so cool? But, dammit, the guy is basically clean as a whistle. You know, kind of a big mouth, but no scandals bigger than that, dang it!
And meanwhile, there’s all this boring stuff about the Clintons breaking laws a left and right, bribing people, inciting violence, rigging elections, and doing all kinds of stuff no one cares about.
It’s just a dull time to be a journalist, with no way to make it big and get famous like Woodward and Bernstein. Man, those guys were lucky ...
