Voted early in Beverly MA. Its for a couple weeks at one place only, city hall. Several people there, about 10 am.
Instead of by street, they have lists by name so you give your name (ID? Of course not...) then address. Your name is crossed off and they give you a ballot and an envelope. When done voting you put the ballot into the sealed envelope and write name and address (print and sign name on it) and the ballot envelope gets inserted etc.
Trump & Pence, Manning-Martin for Sheriff (MA Essex County)..and I blanked unopposed US Rep Moulton (D).
Interesting. I’m kind of proud of the way TX is handling voting. They actually have a computer set up with a card scanner, which they use to scan your Driver’s License. At my polling location, I presented my Driver’s License and voter registration card to the official. She scanned my license, which did not work, due to the data strip on the back being chewed up from being rather old and constantly in my wallet. She then looked me up from my license number. The machine then printed out a strip of paper with my precinct info on it, which I then took to the voting are and presented to the official there. Then, that official took me to a machine and input my precinct. Overall, very impressive.
I lived in Beverly for six years, off Cabot St and always voted at the Library. Been in SC since March, couldn’t hack another New England winter!
The things I miss are cheesesteaks from Super Subs, burritos from La Victoria Taqueria and vodka tonics from the Anchor, served in pint glasses and so stiff the first sip makes you shudder...lol
