The plan is to tax you just like Medicare...right out of your paycheck...poof....
Yes but it imploded at the wrong time.
I think that this is not really a surprise.
The Dems knew they could never push thru a one-payer plan - even with the majorities they had in Congress at the time.
They did this incrementally. Their line of thinking was “Well, if this works, great! But if it doesn’t, we can blame it on the insurance companies and go for full govt-run healthcare”.
Depending on the outcome of the Congressional elections, expect the Dems to make another move towards a one-payer system.
There are several reasons Obamacare premium increases won’t change many peoples’ minds. First, those whose premiums are going up didn’t have insurance before so now they won’t have it again. Second, people who have a job have insurance through work. Third, the elderly have Medicaid and the vets have the VA.
Now, down the road these will all be affected, too. But not before Nov. 8th.
What's "affordable" about it?
So a one payer system essentially means the doctors work for the government, for government wages? Isn’t that the bottom line? Doctors with 12 years of schooling, a $300-$500K student debt and they are going to take jobs as a doctor for $75K and pay medical malpractice insurance and higher employees to deal with the 100% increase in paperwork?
Here’s an interesting report from a legislative perspective on the price hikes, as they are required to be reported.

Since this monster was approved, it appears that each state had been given grants each year which covered up the true sticker price. Well, it appears that they grant money is being reduced and reality is now staring at consumers by the bill they are getting in the mail.
