Cannabis sativa is one of the most important crops in human history:

It is extraordinary in its high globular protein content, its balanced essential fatty acid content (including both first derivatives of both essential fatty acids), and its superior natural fiber, which has been used for clothes and ropes for centuries.

Marijuana (as I understand it) is an artificial cultivar of the female flowering plant.

I have never ingested marijuana in any form; I consume what is now called industrial hemp on a regular basis.

Several of the Founding fathers were hemp farmers.

Hemp is so valuable that the USA suspended the marijuana laws in WWII in order to grow hemp for the war effort.

You neglected to reference the very high caloric content of cannabis seeds, which in many cultures were used as a last ditch effort to avoid starvation in early spring.
