Brexit Redux? Scarborough, Cillizza Agree: There Is a Hidden Trump Vote
Legal Insurrection ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Could Donald Trump pull a Brexit, confounding elite opinion by winning the election with votes that the polls didn’t pick up? On today’s Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Chris Cillizza of the Washington Post agreed it could happen.

Scarborough said that people are still whispering to him as they leave the room that they’re voting for Tump, but are embarrassed to tell pollsters given the coverage of his comments about women, etc. There are limits to the phenomenon: in Cillizza and Scarborough’s view, the hidden Trump vote is unlikely to exceed 1.5%. But if Trump can continue to tighten the race in these two final weeks . . . it could be a very interesting election night.

How much of the shy Trump vote is now residing under the Libertarian candidate, just waiting for Election Day?

Damn right there’s a hidden Trump vote.

But is it going to be counted accurately?

If this was a fair election, I would have no doubt of a Trump victory, with quite a few blue states flipping.

But it seems that the RATS are rolling out their vote fraud machine in a particularly blatant way.

Constitutional crisis, here we come, worse than 2000.

Still ... GO TRUMP!

I’m not ashamed to tell pollsters that I intend to vote for Trump,I don’t WANT to tell them! I wish they’d go away with their incessant, questionable polls!

The #NEVER CLINTON - BERNIE vote may put TRUMP over the top.

Scarborough, Cillizza see a 1-2% hidden Trump vote.

It's an underestimate.

On what are they basing their 1-2% estimate? If it is hidden, how do they know? The hidden Brexit vote must have been higher than that.

Rolling out the CYA explanations. Good sign. I expect to see more as the days go on.

Yeah, hidden. Totally stealth. Not going to rallies, putting up signs, hitting all the online polls, etc...

The polls fail to take into account the people who are NOT among the “likely voters”.

I don’t participate because I know they use polls to manipulate, not inform.

Given all the weird stuff going on by dems and community organizers, I think that we need 5% hidden Trump supporters.

There is a possibility - that is why they are trying so desperately to make the race seem out of hand.

NPR this morning in Seattle was explaining that a big HC win in WA would mean that all the spending ballot questions would win.

1-2% baloney. It’s probably 5-6%.

# of Rs is down as we flee to indie. that’s why dems sense a win... fewer Rs.

But... the indie #s are waaaaaay up. Up way more than R is down. And most of the increase is past Rs who will vote Trump. Indies will go 75/25 trump!

They’re starting to see there is something hidden but they’re still missing the big piece.

Little piece that will help... a certain number of dems will vote trump. They can’t quantify that b/c nobody says it out loud. I think that’ll be more than anyone expects. Too many people HATE hillary. Dems included.

When Hillary’s crowds number barely in the hundreds and Trump packs in thousands something is not right with the polls

You say 5% to 6%. It could be as high as 10%. Rush has talked about this a lot, he calls it the “Wilder effect”.

There could be something to that, but I did hear a Hillary supporter make a reasonable point on the issue.

He said that Hillary is not a compelling speaker, so people aren’t motivated to come hear her, but they will still vote for her.

In contrast, Trump rallies are great entertainment, so more people tend to come out.
