Donald Trump Makes a Push in Florida
Wall Street Journal ^ | OCTOBER 23, 2016 | BY BETH REINHARD AND JANET HOOK

As Donald Trump’s path to the presidency appears to narrow, the GOP nominee on Sunday hunkered down in Florida, one of a handful of swing states that polls suggest remain competitive.

Mr. Trump is slated to headline five rallies over three days in the nation’s largest battleground, where more than a million voters have already mailed in ballots. In-person early voting begins Monday.

At a rally Sunday in the heavily Republican retirement community of Naples, Mr. Trump said his campaign in Florida looks “phenomenal.” He also said polls around the country are underestimating his support among women. “We are going to win the great state of Florida and we are going to win back the White House,” Mr. Trump said in a county where Republicans outnumber Democrats by a 2-to-1 ratio. “There is the same enthusiasm all over the country. They’ve never seen anything like it.”

I hope the enthusiasm holds and translates into people actually getting out and casting a vote for Trump.

We are going to learn a lot in this election. The impact of social media, whether there is a silent majority (monster vote), if the State Controlled Media is as powerful as the establishment thinks it is, if European descent whites have become the new untouchables in America, if minorities and single women...and immigrants of all kinds...are the new power in the country, if TV ads and the air war still are dominant means of mass communication. All these things and plenty more will be proven or disproven.

All these things and plenty more will be proven or disproven.

The biggest is the future of the Republican party.

Win or lose, Trump destroyed the GOPe. The BUSH/RYAN/ROMNEY/MCCANE/FOXNEWS fake conservative cabal is dead. Jeb!s 150M embarrassment proved that.

It’s smart to concentrate on Florida right when in person early voting starts.

I feel very confident Trump will win Ohio, iowa, NC, and FL. The idea that Arizona and Georgia are battlegrounds is crazy.

This with the usual GOP states gets Trump to 258. So he has to cobble together 12 more delegates.

CO 9
NH 4
Maine 3 plus 1
NV 6
WI 10
PA 20
VA 13

I personally think IF Trump wins PA and/or WI its a landslide anyway.

So the “thread the needle strategy” he needs 12 from CO, NH, ME, NV

I can’t figure out VA. I lean toward it is lost as a blue state, but I do think the idea that rural Virginians might show up in droves and maybe some Dems sit home. So not impossible.

That gives you this map

if Trump loses, there will be no national pub party....it's clear that the oligharchy controls it...

perhaps they control the house and senate too...

we might have a chance in states and counties...

if pub states and legislatures would do their duty and make voting a secure and honest undertaking, it'll be a start...

If Trump’s path is narrowing, isn’t Hillary’s as well?

Who would lead a “new” Repub party? No milquetoast is going to generate any excitement. It would have to be someone from outside Washington, maybe a governor. But, I can’t think of one. The party may just cease to exist, at least on a competitive level.

The WSJ is anti-Trump, especially the guy that Shemp Smith frequently interviews on Fox, and also Peggy Noonan.

Day by day I grow more confident, and I don’t know why.
But I feel deep down, that Mr. Trump will win.

I will be pleasantly surprised if there is indeed a "Monster Vote" but I am getting flashbacks to 2008 and 2012 when many on this very site told me with great conviction that Ohio would never go Blue and vote for Obama.

I hope my spidey senses are wrong but I keep telling people that my area in Ohio that used to be hardcore Red is slowly turning to Blue because there are no jobs so more and more people around here on going on the government dole permanently and as such they are voting for the people promising them more government goodies.

Yeah, I have no idea if a monster vote will materialize. Maybe the country has been permantly crippled and is in terminal decline. I know the desire for massive open immigration is to try and prop up the failing government entitlements...and I know the desire of manufacturers to go overseas or to Mexico and Central America is because up until about 20 years ago American salary levels were considered too high for American companies to be competitive. And I know all this is happening because our elected staff want to keep making millions hand over fist by selling policy to the best bidders.

But there’s not a whole lot else that I know for certain about this election.

I’ve been raked over the coals by New Yorkers who insist that Trump will take New York.

We’ll see. If Trump takes New York. PIAPS loses
