Knocking out the voters’ ability to, in effect, vote themselves funds from the public Treasury, is indeed a worthy idea. I’ve myself agreed with it for a long time, though you are correct in that it is likely impossible to push through. Also, how is “benefit” defined? I likely benefit if the gov’t builds a facility near me, and so on.
That said, you ARE addressing what many (including the aforementioned Pres. Jefferson) believed to be a fatal flaw of what are loosely termed “democracies”. I just don’t know that it prevents politicians from feathering their own nests, media collusion, and so on.
But... I like your suggestion, even though I pray that a peaceful revolution can still occur. Do you have more such ideas, more directly aimed at corruption(s) other than corruption of the voters themselves?
The drain cannot be drained politically and legally unless Trump wins and is true to his word.
First, he needs to ferret out the upper levels of every government department and agency, including the military, CIA, FBI, IRS, DOJ, EPA, DEA, Homeland Security, Department of Education, and State Department. The rot has sunk down at least to the third level in every one of these organizations. They are either outright treasonous in doing the unlawful bidding of their Democratic masters, or weaklings who failed to stand up against this tyranny.
Second, he needs to last long enough to replace Scalia, Ginsburg and Kennedy. There are now only two reliable conservative votes on the USSC. No reform laws passed by Congress will survive the current court, let alone a Court that shifts even further to the left.
Third, he needs to immediately go to war with the GOP-e leadership in the House and Senate, and encourage conservative members (there are a few) to take leadership roles. This would include making McConnell and Ryan persona non grata in the White House, and in any discussions on legislation.
Fourth, he needs to appoint an FBI Director who will clean house and return that agency to its sworn responsibility to defend the Constitution and enforce America’s laws. This means widespread investigations into the Clinton Campgain, the shadowy attack organizations such as those run by Creamer and Foval, the Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Foundation, the Clinton Global Initiative, the IRS, the State Department, and the Department of Justice. And mostly George Soros and his treasonous empire.
Fifth, he needs to completely shutout the mainstream media - including Fox - from the ability to answer questions at press conferences, background briefings, etc. He needs to open the doors to the new media until the dinosaurs wither and die.
