The Green Party’s Jill Stein has spoken an inconvenient truth, that on the existential issue of a strategic war with nuclear-armed Russia, Donald Trump is less dangerous than Hillary Clinton. ___
According to Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein, “On the issue of war and nuclear weapons, it is actually Hillary’s policies which are much scarier than Donald Trump who does not want to go to war with Russia. He wants to seek modes of working together, which is the route that we need to follow not to go into confrontation and nuclear war with Russia.”
Yet, a glance at the front page of the New York Times or the editorial page or many other pages on any day gives a sense of the different environment in which we find ourselves. Absolutely nothing but evil is to be attributed to Donald Trump.
To do otherwise is to court risk. After all, who wants to find oneself labeled as a sexist, racist, homophobic deplorable? (“Bellicose,” “hypocritical, “lying” and “murderous” are notably missing from the litany of deplorables.) What would the neighbors say? Or the other parents at the private schools? Or the other students huddled together in the “safe spaces” in the colleges?
The ruthless stifling of discussion is not only true of the Times, the Washington Post, NPR, the New Yorker and other outlets charged with molding the opinions of the lesser orders. The intimidation spreads like slime on the surface of a dying pond so that even supposedly iconoclastic online outlets fall meekly into line. And so the key issue confronting us in this election cannot be discussed: that is a dangerous state of affairs for all of humanity, war with another nuclear power, Russia.
Into this menacing atmosphere steps Jill Stein, the Green Party candidate for President of the U.S. Here is some of what she says in an interview on Oct. 12, headlined “Jill Stein: Trump Is Less Dangerous Than Clinton; She Will Start Nuclear War With Russia”:
“It is now Hillary Clinton that wants to start an air war with Russia over Syria by calling for a no fly zone. … We have 2,000 nuclear missiles on hair-trigger alert. They are saying we are closer to a nuclear war than we have ever been.

This won’t stop 99% of peacenik Democrats and liberals from voting for Hillary. Self-styled “anti-war” liberals are capable of a great deal of Doublethink when a liberal Democrat rather than a Republican starts a war. In those cases, it isn’t really a war in their minds, it’s just “peacekeeping” or “a humanitarian mission.”

In the past, when the US came closest to a nuclear war with Russia, US national security was at stake (Cuban missile crisis). With Hillary, we’ll risk nuclear war for the sake of the security of Sunni jihadi militias in Syria.

Looks to me as though she’s trying to sink her own campaign knowing that it’s not really going anywhere and she’s scared of a Hillary Presidency.
Thank God for small favors. Turning the cares of one voter at a time is a good thing.
Perhaps, one voter was turned. Perhaps, war was their issue.

Seems like both Stein and Johnson have made more positive comments about Trump than Hillary recently. It would be great if that translated into those who said they were voting 3rd party into votes for Trump.

Her supporters wouldn't vote for Trump, they've been brainwashed to think that he and all Republicans are devils. The worst thing Stein could do is drop out. Her supporters would convince themselves that a war isn't really a war if a liberal Democrat starts it and will vote for Hillary. Hillary already has most of the Sandersbots on board in spite of all the revelations about her yukking it up and backslapping with Goldman Sachs thanks to his endorsement.
ABC had an ‘undecided’ voter on last night (she was actually a Stein/Hillary). She now thinks Hillary is safe and is voting Stein - hope there’s a lot more like her ...
What Jill needs to do now is urge her supporters to switch to Trump. “War is not Green, it is bad for the planet!”
A vote for Jill Stein is a wasted vote that could be used FOR Hillary ... If some leftists can be persuaded to vote for Stein instead of The Beast, it helps Trump.
Especially when Mrs Diarrhea of the Mouth in the Oval Office.
Jill Stein thinks Bernie Sanders is too conservative.
That says all that one needs to know about her.
