I live within walking distance of this subway station, and was there day before yesterday.

Good news...

Police arrest man who dialed in bomb threat from subway station pay phone

Amanda Mikelberg and Kimberly M. Aquilina

Police released video footage of the man who allegedly made the threat.

Police arrested a man in connection with a bomb threat made from a pay phone in Queens, officials said.

Brian Harrison, 56, has been charged with three counts of filing a false report and three counts of making terroristic threats for allegedly calling 911 and making a bomb threat.

The suspect entered the subway station at Queens Boulevard and 71st Avenue at 9:31 a.m. on Oct. 13 and used a pay phone to say there was a bomb located at Queens Boulevard and Continental Avenue in Forest Hills, police said.

He then entered an elevator and pressed the emergency call button, into which police said he stated “the bomb will go off in 6 minutes and 57 seconds.”

There was no bomb and no one was injured.

lol! Without even going to the video, I know what it is. That scene from Woody Allen’s Take the Money and Run, where he hands the teller a note with the word ‘gun’ misspelled as a ‘gub’.

It was penmanship, not spelling. You’ll have to have one of our vice presidents initial your note. That’s our policy.

You’re right. I got it confused with an episode of Sanford and Son, where Fred was reminiscing about his younger days when he played a role in a bank robbery with his then friend “Carol”. Fred’s job was to hand the teller a stickup note that Carol had written. It read something like: “Put all the money in this brown piper bug or I will short your herd off”.

The YouTube clip is not of good quality, but it was the only one I could find on that scene.

I wonder who ripped off whom, Allen or Foxx. Doesn’t matter, robbing a bank is not funny. I went to high school with a kid who was killed robbing a bank a year or two after graduation. Not a hood or a punk or a druggie, a sort of bland run of the mill kind of white guy, academically above average. I thought at the time that it was suicide by cop. I could never see him harming anyone.
