The Russian navy has never been battle tested, their equipment is substandard, their sailors are poorly trained.
I’m surprised they have made it that far from home port without vessel assist.

The last time the Russian navy was battle tested was WW2. Other than sinking a couple of unarmed refugee ships carrying thousands of civilians, they didn’t accomplish much except provide the German navy with some realistic target practice in the Baltic. They also launched the only amphibious landing of WW2 that was repulsed with heavy losses.
