Good politicians mix truth with desirable lies so effectively that sheeple can’t tell the difference. Sheeple focus on their desires with strong feelings (feelings are real, but are not necessarily about truth). The politician and sheeple are now linked tightly, and if sheeple should later doubt the politician, they must also doubt themselves. Pride will prevent this.
Pride will also prevent them from admitting to themselves and others that they were so easily fooled by this (essentially) Nigerian Con Man.
