Both the official Taxi drivers and the Uber drivers are right.

The Taxi drivers that were forced to pay outrageous sums for a medallion should expect that the city force any driver to get a medallion.

The Uber drivers are correct that they should not be forced to buy a medallion.

The fair answer to this is to force the city to reimburse all Taxi operators for the cost of their medallions(with interest) and allow Uber to operate.

As usual it is corrupt officials to blame for it all.

Black? Every cab I’ve been in in NYC wad driven by someone of assholistan heritage with an unreadable name on his licence, and in most cases (based on my experience), hate in their eyes.

The power to regulate is the power to destroy.
