San Francisco Police Department initially said on Twitter at 3:58 p.m. that there was one confirmed victim and that they are investigating and searching for a suspect.
An SF Alert Nixle Alert was put out at 3:42 p.m. The alert indicated public should avoid the area of 325 La Grande Ave. June Jordan School for Equity and City Arts and Technology High School is at that location. A shelter in place has been ordered for residents and nearby businesses.
A San Francisco Unified District spokesperson said the shooting occurred right around the schools’ dismissal time. The school is on lockdown.

Right by McLaren Park.
I used to take the kids there to feed the ducks.
Bet they’re pissed. Shift change time.
We had to have one, it’s getting a little hot in Hillary’s kitchen. What with all the Wikileaks and O’Keefe and stuff.
I grew up in San Francisco, MY city. Me and my three-speed bike. Went to school and JC there, as well as my young adulthood.
Before it deteriorated into Fag City.
Now I have to struggle to visit the place.
There are still a couple of restaurants I must visit at least once a year, but little more that would get me there.
But this can’t be. Didn’t Moonbeam sign a bunch of gun control bills into law?
Isn't that the old Luther Burbank Middle School? Apparently they renamed it since when I hung around there 50 years ago. Now it's "June Jordan School for Equity and City Arts and Technology High School". I doubt it's any better than the old days. It was a magnet for punks, attracting black punks from across McLaren Park in Bayview/Hunter's Point ghetto.
